Well, you guys had some really good answers, but i had the alternator checked and everything is good. I took my positive cable off over night just so the computer would reset and the next day the battery light stopped coming on, but when it gets warm it still bogs down. Could it be the vacuum line or is it something worse?

i want to know what type of clear "glass" i should mount them with. i basically want a shelf that i can drill holes in, put two speakers in, and have the bottom be hollow so i can slide some neons under it. needs to be clear and very inexpensive, but have no rattle. only wanna add 2 6"s. was thinking about plexiglass or something. thank you!

I got a speeding ticket for 42 in a 20. (shut up. i was in a hurry. i normally drive slower) I have Nationwide.

I could pay the ticket, but then how much would my insurance go up? I am 16 year old male and this is my first violation.

Or... I could go on our town's "Probation" Thing
- 2 weeks of driving to home, school, work only
- 3 months of daylight-hours-only driving except work, with no passengers except immediate family members
- $30 traffic school, $61 court costs, $10 donation to local pta

What should I do

Driving down the highway at 6am and my driver's window just exploded inward. There was no one close to me on road, I didn't see anything come towards the car. There is no damage to the frame or the body except small scratches on the body from the broken glass. The temperature outside was about 60 degrees. Has anyone ever heard of this happening? The window was totally shattered. My car is a 2004 - anyone have any ideas?

How do gas stations work? I see the big tankers on the highway and in town going between stations to fill the underground containment pool, but it seems like with all the people visiting the pump the station would have to have a tanker there 3-4 times a day to keep up with it. Does one tanker truck hold enough for multiple stations? Where do they refill the trucks? Do the trucks need to refilled 3-4 times a day also? This is a lot... but I'm realizing I have no knowledge of this huge part of our daily lives! Someone please enlighten me!

The title speaks for itself. I am a college student asking for feedback on the two bikes (with a modest budget) so please dont just post "buy a harley". I am looking for a cruiser that can handle the highway, Chicago driving, and be comfortable ride.

Seems like they used to build good trucks, but now they are junk. (I have an 05 and been in the shop a lot)
Brother has an 04 that has had a total of $22,000 worth of warranty work. Not saying G.M. or Dodge is any better, seems all three are not making the grade.

I believe it might be the time for me to replace my car. I don't feel like spending more than 15,000. Anyone own or recently bought a car that is reliable and durable that is under this price range? Cheaper and more reliability are better, at least for me. I don't really care about what kind of car I drive so any suggestion will be fine.

Someone else hit my car while it was parked. It was very cut-and-dry. I got a police report, the officer talked to the driver. It states that my car was legally parked and the other driver is at fault. The damage is minor rear bumper damage, nothing too terrible. I filed with his insurance company, and after a lot of frustrating phone tag, an insurance adjuster came out and wrote me an estimate for $450. I had an adjustment for $734 from the local body shop for my make of car, and I showed it to him. I expressed my dissatisfaction with this estimate, and he said the body shop would settle with the insurance company directly for costs in excess of the estimate. $300 is a little much. Since it's minor damage, I think the body shop will probably take the money and do a shoddy job on the car. It's my understanding they are supposed to repair my car to pre-accident conditions. I got another estimate for $745 this weekend. I can't get it fixed for $450. What are my options? (cont'd)

The 235 Chevy engine has its engine mounts in the centre of the block and is connected to a powerglide tranny. The engine I wish to use is a 235 which was once connected to a 3 speed manual. But, the engine mounts are at the very front lower area of the block. The book says it must be from 1949-1952. Can I use this motor? Will there be too much strain as the mounts are at the very front of the engine and the pwerglide being heavy? DO i need to find an engine with the mounts in the same place as the original (centre of block) as its a powerglide tranny. Help!

Have a 2001 50 hp. Merc. outboard on a 17 ft Tracker. At full throttle, I have very little power (barely moving above no wake speeds). RPMs are up and engine sounds fine but can't get enough power to get on plane. Can this be a fuel problem or is it mechanical (prop) problem?
