I impulsively bought a motorcycle today (a yamaha 1300), after I took it home I decided the bike is to big and it was not something I really needed at this time. How long do I have to cancel the contract by returning the buke? Today is Sat. - they are closed tommorrow. Help!

i can help you on this issue. I was the sales manager for 2 different motorcycle dealerships for over 5 years. I know all the secrets.

email me if you truly want help! I need to know some vital information asap! Whatever you do, DO NOT RIDE IT ANY MORE!!!

email me with the state you live in, the finance company you finaced the loan through, the dealership you bought it from. Better act quick. There is NO COOLING OFF period on motorcycles.....you are going to have to get out of this on a technicalality. The finance company is probably open on sundays. HSBC is. (HSBC is Yamaha finance)

Check the Uniform Commercial Code for your state; some allow forty-eight hours, some a week, some ten days to two weeks. The UCC is the best way to find out how to cancel the deal; and don't ride the bike and put too many miles on it as the dealer will refuse to accept it.

Canada has a law that says every person who signs a contract for ANYTHING has a 10 day grace period in which to change their minds without penalty.

I don't know if other countries have similar laws.

Most states give 3 working days to cancel a contract. Did you ride it home or was it delivered? You may have to pay a restocking fee

???????????
A candy bar at the checkout is an impulse buy for most people.
Talk to Tony, I guess.

some states have a 3 day "cooling off" period...some do not, maybe you should read your contract.
