I went to get my truck inspected..nice sunny day but had rained the day before...they said their lot was too wet to do inspections :|

My car was sitting in an area of the street where it was sprayed with sprinkler water. I just washed it today and it has hard water stains all along one side of the car. I need advice on how to get the deposits off without hurting the finish on the car.

My friend hit a parked car. Their car only has damaged bumper, but we were told that it costs $480 to fix. Should we pay them the money or go through insurance? He also drove about another few yards before he was stopped by their neighbor, does this make matters worse? If he pays the $480, what's the down side?

Hi all I know this is going to sound crazy but I am at my witts end here. I have a 1995 chev. beretta which has an eletrical short in it. The motor is sound as a dime. BUT however it has a short some place and it causes it to run down. I have put in a new battery and alternator and many other things as well. I have taken it to every garage in town and they seem to get it to running for about 5 mins then call me to come and get it I get it get home and BOOM same damn thing after I have folked out 100's of dollars. So I am asking...NO wait I am BEGGING for someone to get in touch with me that knows without a doubt what they are doing. Please I am begging for someone anyone out there to help me out ???? My auto is Dodge Grand caravan, 1996, 3.3l. The transmission has a little leak and sometimes I have to refill the fluid. It work normally and I used to drive from LA to TN with speed 70mph but
as recently as yesterday when I drove with speed 40 mph there was no problem, but when I entered freeway and accelerated only the RPM needle up and the speed didn't up. What's wrong with my car? How to solve? Thanks for all advices.

OK, BEFORE SOMEBODY TELLS ME TO TAKE IT TO A MECHANIC, I AM VERY BROKE I CAN'T DO THAT RIGHT NOW, SO IF THAT IS ALL YOU ARE GOING TO SAY ON YOUR ANSWER, IT'S NOT HELPFUL. OK, FOR A LITTLE WHILE NOW A LITTLE BIT OF WHITE SMOKE HAS BEEN COMING OUT OF MY HOOD LIKE FROM UNDER THE ENGINE OR SOMETHING. I DROVE IT TODAY AND TURNED IT OFF. I TURNED IT BACK ON AND IT STARTED KINDA TREMBLING AND SHAKING AND DRIVING ROUGH AND LOST A LOT OF POWER AND THE WHITE SMOKE STARTED INCREASING AND MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON A LOT BUT IT STARTED BLINKING ON AND OFF, I COULDN'T HARDLY MAKE IT UP A HILL. I STOPPED BY A SHOP TO SEE IF THEY COULD JUST LOOK AT IT AND HE SAID IT NEEDED A TUNE UP, I JUST CHANGED THE FUEL FILTER BUT NOT THE SPARK PLUGS, COULD THAT BE CAUSING IT? My rental office just started enforcing the parking permits for our complex. If you do not have a permit sticker, you must park in the visitor spots. My neighbor's car was just towed the other night at 4am. The thing is, their car was parked in the visitor's spot. We know for a fact it was because I saw it, they know they parked there, and the neighbor on the other side saw it parked in the visitor spot. However, the towing co is stating they took a picture of it parked in a non-visitor spot. They have been very rude and vague towards my neighbors making it very suspicious. Her husband is in the military and away for two weeks. She has contacted the rental office and they told her, "sorry, we have no affiliation with that towing company" .. can this be true? I thought this was considered private property and that towing co had to get approval from them to enter our complex to tow?? Is there anything she can do? Can she atleast get her things from the car?

I took my car in to get the Serpentine Belt replaced. I picked it up and while driving home my "check engine" light came on. I brought it back to the mechanic. It turned out they had accidentally disconnected a vacuum hose and the leak triggered my engine light. They fixed the problem right away. I drove about 3-4 miles with this leak. Should I be worried about any potential damage from that temporary leak?
