toyota tacoma 2002 4 cylender 4x4 came on out of the blue with no obvious problem, runs good. what does check engine mean? its got good oil level and new air filter.

My gas mileage for my 2003 Dodge Neon SE isn't so great. I get about 21-24 mpg city and about 26-28 mpg on the highway. It's an automatic and it's a former rental car so the dang thing doesn't have cruise. What can I do to improve my gas mileage on this thing? Or is that pretty par for the road?

the scratch is pretty deep. it was my fault, so i'm guessing that my insurance would have to pay. I'm a teen driver but i have not had any accidents before. i've been driving for about a year. thanks a lot.

my mom was driving and ran over a wad of gum someone threw in the road, in was still sticky and got trown up by the tire and little strings of gum are now stuck all over the back of the car, its to sticky to just pick off and we dont want to scratch the car how do you get it off.

Am using a breaker bar, socket, and strap wrench. The bolt is real tight and wont turn. (trying to replace the timing belt)

I am having problems with my 98 Nissan Sentra burning oil. I have taken the car to a mechanic and he said he found no leaks (I didn't really want to spend the extra money for him to take apart the car to find the problem). I just started a new job and there is one intersection on my way to work where the car always burns a lot of oil. It only does it in 2nd and 3rd gear (if I am going through the intersection at faster speeds nothing happens). I will go over a small bump in the intersection and feel the car not want to accelerate and sure enough there is a big cloud of blue smoke behind me. Now the car burns a quart of oil each week (I drive a little over 300 miles a week comuting to work). I've also noticed that the car seems to burn a lot of oil when I am driving in the city in stop and go traffic. With the exception of a few intersections, the car doesn't seem to be burning oil (there is no blue smoke most of the time). Does anyone have any idea as to what the problem could be?
