I have a 1993 Pontiac Grand Am that requires R-12 refrigerant. My mechanic says that he can't recharge it there, and to look for stuff called AutoFrost. I read on the internet that you need some type of certification for it. But, he said I could find it at Walmart, or some type of store like that. Which is true? Do they even make R-12 available to the public anymore? Has anyone had this problem? I don't want to have to change my A/C system to the R-134, or whatever it is, that could be expensive... any suggestions? Thanks!

Boy - hit my head on the garage door while pulling out of the garage. These helmets don't offer much protection, but normal helmets look goofy and don't match the rest of my outfit. Anyone know of a good helmet that will match my leathers and still look Harley cool?

That is really not so bad, but when you have to pay first and then the little clip to keep the gas flowing is not on the Pump? irritating... How about the fact that the last 50cents takes as long as the first $10.00 to pump..

is anyone else annoyed with this crap?

This is for a wiper aboard a ship. The original holders are flat aluminum and are 31" long. The rubber inserts have dry rotted over the years. A bulk roll of wiper blade material would be ideal. I just can't find any place that sells this rubber insert material in bulk.

I recently replaced the cylinder head gasket for my vehicle after it overheated and blew it. Two weeks along the way the car idling starts to be unstable and the power goes down, only to find that oil and water are being mixed up but the head gasket is still fine, what could be the problem?

It was their fault, but their insurance only paid about half due to their own estimate. I went to a local body shop and found the cost of repairs at twice the amount. The insurance company policy is that they won't pay any more until auto is at the shop and the shop calls to iron out the repair cost with the insurance adjustor. The thing is I don't want to fix it, but I want to be reimbursed the full damage done to my car.

Do you think body repair shops would go in with me if I say to call and get them(ins co.) to realize and pay full price for the damage, but don't fix my car? Would they do that for me? I'm thinking maybe not but what if I say you(body shop) can take half of the payment; now there's a incentive, and they won't be wasting their time. Anything ethically or morally wrong with this?

I understand that if your speeding or drinking or your high on some drug you have the chance of hitting another car and seriously hurting them. What I really dont understand is why a cop has the right to pull you over and give stupid ticket for not wearing a seat belt. Who are you hurting? If your driving down the road without a seat belt on....you arent hurting the other drivers on the road....your hurting yourself if anything. And seat belts dont always help you in a car crash! Why is it that it now is a law to wear your stupid seat belt? Did we forget once again about the free country...
