just obtained a 1984 chevy short box and the vin says 305 but the guy I got it from says it is not the original motor. Any help would be great.

I have disconnected the battery because it is the only way that it will quit sounding. I have tried resetting the alarm system and removing the fuse that controls it.

Yesterday I was driving in the country--one lane each way, no passing--and I was doing the limit (55), and I looked in my rearview mirror and I couldn't see anything but the front of a Ford F-150. I swear, this guy was *one* car length behind me. I prayed a deer didn't choose that moment to dart out on the road (it happens, here). I took the very first opportunity to get off the road (some poor schmuck's driveway), and Mr. Ford blew past me like a tornado. Being an educated person, I thought to myself, "What the f-ing f-?"

As unnerving as this was, it was not an unusual occurance; it happens on that particular road all the time. I'm always doing the limit, or close to it; there is nothing provocative about my car, nor do I have any nasty bumper stickers. I, myself, appear normal, and do not shoot the bird out the window or do ANYTHING that would irritate other drivers.

So, Yahoo people, what do you think? What on earth is up with these drivers? What would you do?

thank you for all the answers posted, the BBMF have the only airworthy lanc in the uk and there is one been restored at east kirkby in lincs by the panton bros, neither of these are the one in question, the only other airworthy lanc is in canada, the one im trying to find out about was flown from canada to the uk in 1974 sadly the magazine i had was destroyed in a house fire some years ago im trying find out the whereabouts of that one

Last week I was in a car accident. I was sitting at a red light. The light turned green and I proceeded to go through the intersection when a vehicle ran the red light hitting my car. Police arrived at the scene and issued a ticket to the other driver. There were several witnesses that came forward stating the fact that the light was green for me. My insurance totaled my car and will issue me a check for the blue book value. I have heard from the other motorist's insurance company stating that they have talked to one of the witnesses and they agree that I am not at fault. They want me to call them. My insurance company advises me to deal with them and not the other motorist's insurance company. My vehicle was a 2002 Honda Accord LX. With the money that my insurance wants to give me, I am finding it hard to get a replacement vehicle without putting out my own money. I'm thinking about calling the other ins. co. to see what they are going to offer. Any advice would be appreciated.

I have a 1998 88 Olds. When I try and take off fast from a stop, the car shakes hard, and loud! It also does a little tremble at 65 but if I go faster it stops instantly. Any ideas?

I'm not saying the car drivers are angles either but I've had motor cycles over take me on the left going at least 130kmh and I can see them weaving in and out of traffic after that.
