So, filing as married just makes me get no money back. I was expecting it. Can I file as single? I have not changed my SS # yet and I was told that because we were only married a month I should file single. I was a single mom for the whole year.

I had 2 jobs this year, made a total of $9,021.00 in gross income and according to my return i made up, but didn't file, it said I would be owed a refund of $245.00... My mom made more than $10,000 and wants to claim me as a dependant. According to tax laws, since im under 24 and still i student, she can claim me and get the EIC, however, if she claims me, can I still file my taxes and get back my return as well?

Thanks!

I'm doing a fundraiser for a 501(c)(3) non profit and I was wondering if there's a standard receipt I could download to give to businesses that donate money or services (and where can I download it?). Or can I simply write up a form myself and fill it in when they donate?
Thank you.

From January to May, I was a full time student, under my parent's financial care and insurance. I graduated from college in May. Between May and October I did some traveling and job searching, which resulted in my first "real" job on October 30. At that point I became financially independent, but I still live at home, with my own income and insurance.

Can my parents claim me as a dependent on their 2006 federal and state (Connecticut) tax returns?
