if you qualify (and a large number of people do), you can do it for free at turbotax (starting tomorrow)

You have to buy a new one since the tax laws change each year. The updates on sites like TurboTax don't cover the items that change year to year, just items that change for the current year after the software is produced.

Unfortunately our taxes change each year. New deductions, what one can and cannot claim. So the Old programs you have bought are obsolete. I used www.TaxSlayer.com to do mine this year. It only cost $9.95 to do your Federal and State and its simple and easy to use. Good Luck

For the last 3 years I was able to qualify for the e-filing for free. Select the one that it suits your needs. It starts on January 16,2007.
