If I mail in my 1040, how long will it take before the return amount is deposited into my account (direct deposit)?

If you have a 1040-EZ and file electronically with a preparer, it can fund out in as fast as 3 days. By mail,a llow 6 to 8 weeks if you didn't make a mistake.

If you file online and have it deposited to your account, it should be there in 1-1/2 to 2-1/2 weeks. It depends on what day of the week your return is e-filed. Deposits are made on Fridays.

When you file early, they are usually process in 3-4 weeks, but later in March and April, they do slow down the processing because of volume.

I have found that it varies~anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks. I think it was about a week & a half for mine last year but it has taken longer in other years.
