We are on public assistance and my parents loan us money to pay rent until I can get back on my feet again. I'm afraid that them loaning us money then claiming us would be double dipping...?

I was working at Shaws and never got to file for my 2005 Tax Refund (January through May) and made over $1200. I thought I didn't qualify because I never received a W2 form and never got called to notify me that I had one. Can I still file those year's refund for this year or is it too late?

I'm not a flashy person, but after 15 years in Sales, I'm noticing that people do judge you from your Image. It's time to put my domestic to rest, but I'm having a hard time picking a good vehicle with price and reliability. I'm looking for any suggestions. I like the Lexus but at $55,000 minumum, it doesn't make much sense for tax deduction up here in Canada. Some help Pleassse.

so, my husband has a vehicle that he uses 100% for work, and put over 26,000 miles on it last year...at the 2006 standard milage rate of 44.5 cents/mile that would be a deduction of over $11,500, BUT (here the question) we only had about $1200 in federal with holding..so can we only get a refund for as much as we paid --up to $1200, or will be getting more b/c of our large deduction?

Ok, I'm going to explain this as simple as I can. About 1 year ago my husband had to pay off a debt that his ex wife made after the divorce. The debt came back onto his property, and he had to pay it to clear the property. Now the debt was not his in any way, his name was not asscoiated with this in any way shape or form.
He was wondering, can he claim this $17,000 as a loss to him? He has documentation showing that he had paid the debt, lawyer fees and everything. Can anyone shine some light on this?

Hi everyone, got a slight problem here. My parents currently own an estate worth in excess of £750,000 - the problem is is that if I inherit it all - I have to give the tax man £300,000 (due to the 40% rate). This means that I would have to sell on of the properties in the estate. Does anyone know a simple way to get around this?

Regards,
AJ.
