Do I have to claim it for 2006 or 07? Please no guesses. Doesn't everyone have to fill out W2? I called and the University said they don't "do that sort of thing".

I started first week of dec last year and about to quit this week. i haven't worked for a while (the entire year last year) since i was doing some little extra's on the side. I found out that i was pregnant 4th week of Dec forcing me to quit my job at the moment. First baby should come first, right? My question is, do i need to file taxes for this year? i didn't adjust any of my exempts or anything on my W2 for the baby yet...what will i do?

My wife does interior design, and she is going to school for it. She stopped working May of last year. She only had one client last year, mainly because she started just less than halfway through the year and some people are leary about hiring a student. What are the specifications for self employment.? I am asking this because from what I understand if shs can claim self employment on taxes, then she claim her mileage to school as a business expense?

can you list & depreciate fixed assets from prior years (2002) that were previously treated as an exprense? is there a benefit to it? i know nothing about taxes.

ours are done by a professional accountant, but bookkeeping is done in house. while going through our records to see what has been donated, i found several (a LOT) of items that should have been listed, from professional reference books to furniture. most items were listed under supplies expense (office supplies) or training.

the company is an LLC taxed as a partnership.

also, a link or name of a site with a list of depreciable fixed assets would be great if anyone knows of one. that would help me weed this out a little.

thanks!

I've received a 1099-Misc and would like to estimate how much I must pay for taxes. My taxable income for this year will be within the 15% bracket, with no chance to go outside of it.

Ok, so I'll have to pay 15% for federal taxes right? Then I'll have to pay an additonal % for state, do I also have to pay social security? Any others? What I'm really looking for is the exact percentages I'll have to pay.

I had 3 part time jobs last yr, so 3 different w-2's. I was expecting a decent refund check but everytime i include the job i made the most from i end up owing money. How is that possible? I thought if you claimed "1" or "0" that you get the most taxes taken out of your paycheck and that i would get that back. I dont really know anything about filing taxes but i thought you always got the federal tax witheld from you paycheck back.
