I have had my tax return taken 3 years in a row due to debts I owed while in the Army. How can I find out if it will be taken again this year, and most of all, prevent it?

There is no way to prevent the offset other than to pay off the underlying debts.

You can't prevent it.. but you can call the Treasury Offset number to see if it is going to be taken.

how much do you still owe? that will be taken out, and there is nothing you can do about it, unless you claim more exemptions and owe them at the end of the year
