I rent a house. My landlord has informed me that she sold her house back to the bank. I was told that the bank will pay me to move if I just stay. I also live in California.

My landlord insists on picking up the rent every month for my apartment. He lives 45 minutes away from my apartment.

When I am 3 or 4 days late with partial rent money and he has to come back again, he requests that I pay him $15 extra because he has to travel so far to come pick up the rest of the rent.

Do I really have to pay him that amount for gas?? It says nothing in the lease about it- all it states is that after 7 days I pay a 10% late fee on what's late.

I have been saving on and off to move out of my parents house since I was 16, I have some money saved up, but there are times when I am ready and then I get cold feet. A friend of mine is also wanting to move out and she asked me to be her roommate. I would love the idea but she wants to move into an apartment like fast, giving me no time to really plan. I dont have good credit at all, so I think it'll be hard for me to be on the lease or get my own apartment by myself. If anyone could help me with what to do as far as how to save alittle more money, finding a way to either convince my future roommate to slow down, or a way for me to get my own place when I am fully ready, that'd be really helpful. Thanks, oh also I dont have car yet but will be getting one in January (already saved for that), and also I am not very good at managing money so I know that's a downfall too. Any sane, and logical suggestions will be helpful.

I am interested in a newly constructed townhouse in Gloucester County, NJ. There is no tax information listed, so I looked at other townhouses in the development, but the range was anywhere from $7000-$9000/yr, which is a large range. I would like to find out a more exact value before I purchase this home. How do I get this information if it is a new construction, with no previous year's tax information?

I live in melbourne and am interested in finding information sources about properties in Australian cities going through pre-foreclosure.

I have done an exhaustive search. In the US there are pre foreclosure listing servies and you can get records from courts. I am not getting any luck in Australia

Is it safe to say that one does not exist for the home or did the list agent simply forgot to add this piece of information?

i am a first time landlord. i found a tenant and signed a lease. upon signing the lease the tenant told me that she would mail out a check the next day for the security deposit and the first months rent. it has been a 3 days since she told me that and i still not have received the check. her lease term begins january 1st so she has not moved in yet nor have i given her the keys yet. the lease states that the first month's rent is due when the lease is signed. techically she is 3 days late and is in default of the lease. the fact that the tenant is late with her very first rent payment concerns me. can i terminate the lease and find a new tenant?

I took care of her for the past 10 years. She passed in June. My son and I have nowhere to go - nowhere. I never paid rent bcause they needed me to care for her 24/7 - she was very disabled. We never had an agreement - I just lived here forever and started taking care of her 10 years ago. He is the administrator of her stuff BUT the house is in probate for lack of a will. He just came over to give me an eviction notice - in the middle of winter - knowing I have NO resources, a child, etc.
I signed it but I told him I wasnt leaving bcuz i had nowhere to go.
Can he do that? legally ?
Do I have to go?
Can a cop come make me leave or does it have to go through a court?
This is Richmond Virginia

Hi, I am a non-resident & non-citizen; have built a house and use as my only home when in the states. I & my fiansee plan to live out of the USA for about two years. Concerned about loss of benifits regarding capitol gains up to 250,000. So, if I rent-out the hose to an friend or whoever, and move back in two years and live in my home, because I am not a company can I still sell the house and qualify for the capitol gains program? And can I live in the house a year and then sell and still qualify for the no taxes up to $250,000.? Also, as an individual, we built the house ourselves. The market is down now but the cost of building and the sell price, the differance is what the taxes are based on. Right?

here's the scoop. first of all, i want to sell my house for no less than $650,000. if i do an FSBO type sale, would I still have to pay a commission to a real estate agent? Also, a realtor told me that he has an investor who is willing to purchase the house at $695k but get back $45k at the close of escrow. What in the world is that?

We had a builder that sold his company (A) to another company (B). The new builder (B) refuses to pay the realtors involved. Company (B) says they never knew realtors were involved. Although there was a signed contract between us and Company (A).

I have been living in my apt building which contains 3 seperate apts... with my girlfriend and her son who is 11. We have lived here for 2 years with massive turnover when it comes to tenants on the other floors. We live on the second floor and about 4 months ago new tenants moved in above us. When we moved in our landlord questioned us about a cat we owned, but now these new tenants have 3 yessssssssss 3 pit bulls... and lied to my landlord about them.. they have proceeded to build a pen out in the small back parking area that only has 5 parking spots to begin with. We do not go out the back anymore and dont even want to park out back because they just begin to bark viciously,,, is this allowed I mean.//... its actually a little scary... not to mention the constant running back and forth at all times of the day and late night right above us while we are trying to sleep/.

In my research, it seems that most people don't agree with putting down ~say 40-50% because it doesn't help with payments. ? Am I missing something?
To me, the more put down, the less the amount that gets interest tacked onto it. And if I don't itemize deductions at tax time, having interest does nothing for me.
Just trying to understand if a large down payment would help substantially.

After viewing the apartment it had plug-in space heaters instead of a furnace and I have an infant and a toddler so this would not have been safe. I didn't sign a lease or anything else and I found a new place. now they say my $ is non-refundable. How can I get my $?
