If I'm a single guy with my college loans all paid off, working as a Dentist making a six figure salary (~$120), could I afford to have a Ferrari F430 (~$200k) and house in a nice neighborhood (~$500k)?

My parents had a house built in OK tha should be ready in Jan. They a got loan for $15k to get some extra things put in to the house. My parents got the house built thinking that they could sell the house they have in NY quickly enough so they could use that money to pay for the new house and have some extra money. It's the end of Nov and the house still hasn't sold. If they don't pay for the house by Jan they will lose the $15k they put down. My parents aren't rich so I don't want them to lose that money. Here is the question. Now we are planning on having me get a loan to buy the house in OK. Pay the mortgage until they can sell the house. Then I will sell them the house to them for what ever my loan was for. The house in OK is going to be $203k. The house in NY is for sale for $350k. Would the plan above be a good idea or would we lose money doing that. Or should we just lose the house in OK, sell the house in NY and lose the $15k and just have another one built later on.

I'm 17 until this coming June. I have money saved for living costs and I'm planning to move away from home shortly. I will be moving from one side of the country to the other, which will make it difficult, if not impossible for my parents to sign the lease for me in person. How would I go about signing a lease for an apartment?

My husband and I bought a house with a 3/1 arm mortgage. Our payment will soon adjust starting Dec. of 2007 . The problem is we cannot afford to pay an additional $ 500.00 to our monthly mortgage. They say that if we call our lender, they might be able to help us . The thing is I don't know if i should call them or not. Do you have any idea on how they will be able help us. Any options?

there was a fire in my apartment buliding on the 18th of novemeber. i just got an email tonight from my landlord and she says that since i dont have renters insurance, that i am obligated to do the clean up and i have to pay for the damages the firefighters made while taking care of the fire. can she do that? she also told me that i have to clean the walls with bleach and she would take care of the painting.

if anyone can help please do. i have already lost everything that i owned and if i am obligated to this then i am just not to sure what i am going to do im lucky to be alive only to have to deal with this. i live in chicago if that makes a difference, thank you

also the toaster must of shorted or it had to do with the outlet, either way i was not in the room

When we first moved into this house, our shower wouldn't drain. It would overflow before we even got out of the shower so we figured it was clogged. Well, we told the landlord and she bought some draino. About 3 weeks later our bathroom started smelling of really bad sewage and this grayish dirt looking stuff would back up into our shower. We told the landlord because we thought maybe the septic tank needed emptied and she said it had been emptied 7 yrs prior to us moving in so she ignored the problem. Well, it began to get worse. Anything we poured into our sink would end up in the shower. Before we could even take a shower we had to clean it out because it had all that gray dirt/rock in the floor of it. We had to use buckets to get the water out or it would sit there for about an hour before draining. Anyhow we didn't pay rent for 2 months and now she is taking us to court. She gave us 2 weeks to get out! There was also mold growing in the bathroom. Will we end up losing at court?

I just got a letter from the local water company wanting to me to donate or sell them an easement on my property for improvements on the water lines that run through my yard. What kind of payment can I expect out of this? I know it will be based on how much land will be included in the easement but I don't really know what to expect or whether or not it's worth it.

FYI the property is in Oklahoma

I am a 25 year old living in an apt. I want to buy a house soon, but can't really afford to save up. I pay almost $800 for rent so I believe I can afford a morgage.
Do you have any advice on how I can start to get money for a home down payment....like grants or anything??

how common is it to get a loan from a parent, for buying a house?

we found our dream house, it's gorgeous and in the perfect location, but I have no credit and that means I have bad credit, right? I can't cosign, so I was thinking... my mom is wealthy, and I have been pondering asking for a loan of 35k, at a 2% interest rate. If we get this 35k, we can afford this home no problem. I'd pay back the loan in full within 7 years.

Is this a normal thing to ask a parent? I'm a little nervous asking just because to me, it's a lot of money, but to her it isn't a huge deal. I was never spoiled so I realize how much money this is and how lucky I would be to be loaned it. Am I being selfish asking for the loan?? how can I ask her for this, she intimidates me a bit but this home is just perfect and I want to give it a shot.

My husband and I are purchasing our 2nd home for $165,000. We can put $7,000 toward the down payment from the sale of our first house. To get 5% down on the new house would be $8,250. This would be fine, because we have over $3000 in the bank after paying this month's bills, and only need to use $1250 of it.

However, our bank will not allow us to to use the $3000 that we have (from recent paychecks) because it hasn't been sitting in the bank for 2 months!!! So they are requiring us to get 100% financing.

Is this _as ridiculous as it seems_, or are there other banks which would allow us to use the money we have earned at our jobs - which we can prove with our paystubs!!!

We don't have the luxury of sitting around and waiting for 2 months to prove ourselves to the bank (because I have been transferred with my job). And the 100% financing is a bad deal as far as interest rates and the extreme pickiness of the underwriters on every possible issue.

Should we try another bank?

In short, for working 12-40 hours, do they deserve the equivalent take-home pay of almost a year of labor??? (assuming most people have a 30 year mortgage and pay about half to it each month...)

The labor is so overpriced, that no buyer in his right mind would pay 3% extra for a property for said "service", that's why it's mixed into the seller's price, so they get to lose.

C'mon, we all know this is a protected mafia racket that discriminates against and boycots FSBOs...don't you think people are going to wise up to this rip-off?
