Renting & Real Estate - November 2007

I read the 3 day policy in the contract and I am considering pulling out of the deal..... for good reason ofcourse.
The rate jumped a point when I went into sign and the payments are more than I had expected. And the loan fee's and such came to roughly over 2000.00. Also in the contract it has a prepayment option which I was told was there to get me a better rate however I dont have a good rate Im actual one point away from the highest rate they offer and in 24 months
I will be evaluated and given a lower rate if all payments are made on time. Which will not be lower than one point from what they have pffered currently.
In the contract it says 3 days but wouldnt that mean 3 operational business days. The company was closed on Thanksgiving and they are not open on Saturdays.
I signed this past Tuesday, so wouldnt the 3 days actually be Monday at the approx time I signed on the previous Tuesday.
That would be 3 working business days

OK this is going to be long so bear with me.

Last year we fell into arrears with our mortgage. We went to court, a suspended possession order was granted, but we managed to raise the money from family to pay off the arrears and get the account clear.

The mortgage company and the court however claim the possession order still stands.

In June this year my partner lost his job and we struggled to make that month's mortgage payment. We paid what we could which was £150 short of our regular payment. The mortgage co said it was OK and as my partner found a job in August we could spread the £150 over 3 months to clear it. We owe one more payment of £50 to bring it up to date.

However

My stupid b*tch mother in law has made a mess of things. Because we had closed our bank account and were waiting to get a new one set up we needed to pay our last month's mortgage payment on a debit card and as I did not have a new card yet, I gave my MIL the money for the mortgage payment and

Me and my fiance wants to buy a home in the $300,00's or so and I was thinking about buying a nice presentable home and just adding to it. Will it be cheaper than just building a house from scratch? I might want to add extra bedrooms or an office or exercise room or something like that. Would that be cheaper or should I just build a home with everything included? I am looking to move to Ocala or stay more in the central area in florida. What do you suggest? Thank you

My nephew left a room near Cardiff University after 2 weeks. The landlord now says that he has to keep payng £240.00 a month until next June (2008) even though he is not there. Has anyone else experienced this. Is this normal or is it a con? Anyone else suffered this?

Long story short, we sold our house and decided not to move, new owner was going to use it as a rental so we decided to rent it back foor a while (cheaper than a mortgage!) anyhoo, we signed a 1 year lease agreement and gave a $1000 security deposit which I think was for is we moved before our contract was up. We've been here 2 years and our contract expired and our landlord was so relaxed about us staying here he said we'd just continue it like it was, and we never had to sign anything. Now before we sold the house we cleaned the carpets but they were realy worn and we made that clear to him. My question would be- could he try and keep our $1000 deposit towards new carpet or by law does he have to give it back to us when we decide to move?

Hi.

We are currently renting a house through reeds rains but the bills are too high ie water rates, coucil tax.

We would like to move to another property when our 6 month tennancy is up that reeds rains have to rent. (if there is one available!)

The thing is I am frightened that we will have to have another credit check.

We are just starting a debt management plan because we are in financial difficulties. This is the reason we want to move as we didn't realise how much the bills were going to be in a detatched house and I would rather be in a victorain terrace anyway!!

Does anyone know if we will have to go through a credit check again or if the one that they did 3 months ago would still count as we intened to stay with same agent, just different property.

Good luck with understanding all that and please be kind, no harsh comments as I am on the edge here.

I usualy advertise and show new people, but im tired of them complaining if they dont like the new person.I have said that when a room is being vacated that they are wellcome to advertise on the net or whereever and find someone they like but they dont.
someone is leaving next wk and i havnt had much response on my ad so the room may be emty for a bit. what im worried about is when the bills need to be payed and they may have to pay between 2 people rather than 3 for a while. I dont want the blame or the expense as they may look to me to chip in. what are your thoughts as a renter or landlord?

I added a new bathroom and bedroom to my house in Miami. Obviously I didn't follow any rules and just built it myself. Now I want to sell my house and want to reflect those new additions on my price and have it updated with my county. How can I do so? what's the cost?

I lost my job in June. First thing I did was contact my mortgage co and came up with an agreement to catch my loan up with my tax refund. However, I just received notice through the mail that my loan has been transferred to another company. In the legal copy, it stated that my current provider should have sent me a Notice Of Warning 15 days before the transfer. That never happened. This is a shock that this has happened. Do I have any legal recourse? They transferred my loan to a mortgage company I have dealt with in the past... and got screwed over by them. I don't want this to happen, again. Any advice or answers would be appreciated!
