Hi.

We are currently renting a house through reeds rains but the bills are too high ie water rates, coucil tax.

We would like to move to another property when our 6 month tennancy is up that reeds rains have to rent. (if there is one available!)

The thing is I am frightened that we will have to have another credit check.

We are just starting a debt management plan because we are in financial difficulties. This is the reason we want to move as we didn't realise how much the bills were going to be in a detatched house and I would rather be in a victorain terrace anyway!!

Does anyone know if we will have to go through a credit check again or if the one that they did 3 months ago would still count as we intened to stay with same agent, just different property.

Good luck with understanding all that and please be kind, no harsh comments as I am on the edge here.

We have paid our rent on time but have only been in the property for 3 months.

We have only just started having problems, hubby buried his head in sand and didn't tell me hoping they would dissapear!!

There's a good chance that they'll do a credit check because they'll want to see a "fresh" credit report.
They are mostly interested to see how you pay your rent and if you are paying your rent on time, they might still rent to you even if you have other "problems" on your record.
There are many people who have financial problems and have late payments on credit cards or something else, but always pay rent on time.
I, being a landlord, rented a place to a person, who had some late payments on his record, but not his rent. He always paid his rent on time (but had late payments on his credit cards and his car.)
It has been over a year since this person became my tenant and I'm glad I rented a place to him. He is a very good tenant.
If you're renting from the same company, they know what kind of a tenant you are, so you should be OK, if you pay your rent on time.

Well they may want to re-check the credit and it may only be a policy. I agree I would talk to them and see how they would handle it. Also they do have some experience with how you pay your bills so that may help or not depending on what they think of how that has happened. If they need a property the size that you have and can rentit out again quickly I think you will be in a better position. Good Luck-Talking is always better. People are better if they understand what is going on and some of them are still good folks!

That will be up to the property management company. You'll have to ask them.
