You obviously have not been reading the news, especially the financial news. There is a glut of homes on the market and a shortage of available buyers. Home prices are dropping, and credit is tightening. Market will not even stabilize for at least a year or two, appreciation of prices at least five. Not a good time to sell

The best time to sell depends more on the market than the time of year. Time of year will depend on what part of the country you live in. The market is VERY slow right now. Yes, in many cases houses are taking over three months to sell, again though, it depends on where you live and what kind of house you have.

We tried to sell about a year ago and our house sat on the market for almost a year and did not sell. The one my sister in law sold in Chicago sold in three weeks. The one she bought in Iowa was sitting for about a year in a good neighborhood.

My ex has had a house on the market since spring, but I think he is asking too much for it. He hasn't gotten many bites. Then again, I'm not that involved in the sale.

Depends on where you live. Instead of getting a bunch of broad opinions, why don't you call a realtor and get some specific information about your neighborhood?
