I doubt you will have much luck with your choice to be unemployed.
Why don't you get a job like the rest of us?

Definately you can and you are most welcome.
As a person looking for work you are entitled to help with the rent so your payment is certain (very attractive for landlords).
Some do not accept this due to their insurance, but some do. You need to check out local papers for homes to rent. As for social services, I would not go there, just my feelings. BUT you are entitled to put your name down on any council housing list where you have a "local connection". So you can rent a house and your kids are entitled to a room each (so the council is obliged to pay your rent until you get a job or become self employed and have a higher income). It is not your fault that housing is difficult the Government deliberately keeps homes empty and denies building permission just to keep property prices artificially high. As for people moralising about getting a job, they're very thoughless. Be happy and you can easily find a home. It is a good idea to register for council housing though as the rent will be lower so when you have a higher income you will have more cash, but beware of where they might house you. It is hard in the UK with a family to survive and so email the Citizens Advice for ideas. Also, it is possible to work in UK but keep the family in France, just going home for weekends, to buy a decent house for a fair price at a fairer interest rate. In this way you can avoid UK problems with schools, depending on how you feel and where you are in the UK. Many people also work in UK but have the family in other countries as UK is such a hard place for kids to grow up. So you have the whole world as your oyster.
Good luck and don't listen to idiots.

To get and continue to pay for your own place, you are going to have to have income coming in, so you or your spouse, or both, will need a job. Even if somebody helps you find someplace that would rent to you, how would you pay the rent?

Get your as.s out and get a job! For craps sake do you think the world owes you a living?
I assume that the thumbs down indicates your attitude, as I suspected. Another of those "I want it but I don't want to work for it"! Too damned many of you in this world today!
