We contacted the agent and they stated that they didn't know what we were talking about. the house was removed from the web site. It is now listed again as of dec 1 as for sale. Is this legal? I previously rented from an established company , they sold the property I lived in to a private landlord , as I had only been with them for 6 months. The new land lord has some unorthodox practices such as collecting rent by coming to your home to get it. This has bothered me since day one. I plan on moving and I need to give him as a reference but I am not sure what he will say about my rent payments being on time. The landlord collects rent when he feels like it although it is due by the 4th of the month so due to both our schedules rent is paid after the 5th at times . My landlord has no established office nor hours, or even a mailing address ( I only have a home phone number). I have paid once which I consider to be late and paid him according to per the lease. I don't want the new landlord to get a reference from him b/c who knows what he might say. Also, I know he wants me to stay in his property w/ a rent incerease. I don't want a bad reference b/c he wants me to stay! Ideas?

We don't live in London, my partner and I have professional careers and yet the only kind of houses we can afford are tiny or in bad areas. Or there's the option of taking out a mortgage that will swallow all of our income and have us over a barrel until we're 70!

I put a $10,000 down to purchase a KB home. A big part of the decision that I bought the house at that particular time because the sale agent told me the closing date will be mid-December. It is important to me to have a house for my wedding on December 24th so I decided to buy the house. Now the construction is delayed and it's pushed back to January for closing. I am disappointed and want to cancel the deal, can I get the deposit back?

I spoke to a loan officer about refinancing my mortgage, and he spoke of a benefit to buyer clause that would not allow a mortgage to be refinanced unless there was a "benefit to the buyer". Does anyone know more about this? Where can I find more info about this?

my landlord is selling the building and we just found out 2 days ago. suddenly there are daily phone calls from the realtor wanting to march people through the apartment (there was a group of 10 today milling about.) it's hard to always rearrange my schedule, even though he tries to give me notice. the realtor says that he has a key and can come when i'm not here. i don't like that idea. is this legal? it kind of feels like a violation.

Can't figure this out. Not great at math. Our interest rate is slowly going up and the 9.95% is the highest it can go. We want to know the answer so we can decide if we should refinance.

I moved into this great place about six months ago. it's in an old, brick building built back in the 20s. I moved into the place because of it's old-timey looks, and the building has soooo much potential, but the landlords are real slums.

I had only one real problem when I moved in: The shower wouldn't stop leaking. After three weeks of calling the landlords every other day, I finally offered to get it fixed myself, which was thankfully deducted from my rent.

Since then, I've:
1) Recieved a fake eviction notice because their office manager stole their money instead of depositing it as paid rent (they only deal in cash or money orders)...I got that cleared up with receipts I've kept.

2) Got a letter from them telling me that if i didn't remove some of the items from my balcony (I'm on the first floor, mind you), that I'd be fined $100. A phone call fixed that problem.

3) Noticed that they never installed a smoke detector in this place.

What agency do I call to report them?

the rent is due. I don't have enough to cover it. I got the money coming in 1 week but landlor want it in 3 days. Threatens to evict us. We were planing on leaving to anothere cheaper apartment next month anyways. Can I get that eviction taken of if I pay a few days after it was put on me? I realize that I might have to pay lawyer fees. Do they have the right to the security deposit even if I pay a week from now? Someone please give me some useful information.
