Looking for more space, and also the potential to actually buy a house. Don't care for NJ. Specifically thinking upstate NY or CT. Are there up-and-coming areas that you would reccomend for a young couple in their 30s who work in Manhattan but don't want to live in Manhattan?

What is the commute like (train)?
What are real estate prices like?

thanks for any advice

Our home was built in 2006 it is a 3 story town home 3 bed 2.5 bath w/ 2 car attached garage. Living room, family room, large kitchen, master has walk in closet, pantry, stackable washer and dryer located upstairs across from master. It is under the affordable housing guidelines for the City of Tusin. See income restrictions below:
-2006 Orange County Moderate Income Limits-
3 person household a maximum of $84,600
4 person household a maximum of $94,000
5 person household a maximum of $101,500
6 person household a maximum of $109,000
7 person household a maximum of $116,600
I have lots of information if you are interested. We need to find a family with 3 or more persons with an income of at least $80,000, but no more than the maximum income as indicated above.

We are desperate and have listed it on craigslist and with an affordable clearinghouse. If you have any ideas where else to find buyers please let me know. It is located on Newport Ave near Sycamore.

And, if you live in something like that, I'd love to hear what you think of living so close to your landlord; what the problems are, etc.

Mind, if anybody wants to discuss the advantages, feel free...

I recently got my very first apt with my boyfriend in september. they seemed like a nice and attentive property management. about a month and a half ago we got some hard rain and the drop ceiling over the kitchen sink began to get wet and eventually broke. we notified the landlords as soon as we started to see a leak. they didnt think it was a problem because it was right over the sink and the mess would be "contained." long story short it took them over a month to get over and fix the problem, while the insulation was exposed and our silverware and dishes were right under it! and on top of that, right after they fixed the cieling, we heard mice up there!!! is this enough to break a year long lease?

I signed a contract to buy a house ten days ago, with a clause to remove loan contingency today. After seeing all the numbers provided by the lenders and concerning that the market might fall further, I have decided to cancel this contract. I told the seller's agent, in writing of course, that I'd not remove the loan contingency and cancel the contract instead. Now the sellers and their agent are asking me again and again with more "explanations"; otherwise, they would not release my deposit check. Who is right?

Hello there,
Can anyone tell me how I can find brokers or lenders who would be interested in using my title company? We are fully insured and can handle the closing on a refinance or purchase from beginning to end. Please let me know.

Sincerely,

I am interested in a house and contacted the real estate company online to schedule a showing. The real estate agent told me that the listing agent is an independent through the same company, but that I should not contact the listing agent directly, because they work for the seller not the buyer, and that they won't have my interests in mind. My reasoning for going with the listing agent is that the seller would have to pay less commission and may be more flexible with their asking price. I live in NC, if this matters. Was it ethical for the real estate agent to tell me that? and is it true? What should I do?
