I work 2 jobs, approximately 60 hours per week. My wife also works full time but in a salaried position about the same amount of hours. We were both raked over the coals in our previous marriages and are both still paying the costs there. Needless to say niether of us have great credit scores and are trying to buy the home she grew up in. We keep getting mortgage companies that promise they can close only to be let down yet again in the end. The owner of the property is on our tails to get a deal done and I fear we may lose the home. We have already given him $18,000 and now we have just learned that he tricked us with fine print that the money is not refundable if we do not buy!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

We are buying a house that has shown up on survey to be Wimpey No Fines. We have found a lender, but should we be concerned about the construction or resale of the house in the future?

First my dad got a divorce then he ended up loosing his job and the mortage company knew of this. He took my moms credit cards before the divorce and put them on our paid off house. He then was unable to make the payments and we got a paper taped to the door that our house was going to be foreclosed, we have not got any actual legal papers or anything. The paper taped to the door said an auction date. My real question is how many days do you have to get out of the house? and can they take your stuff and switch the locks and not let you have your things... (I have dogs so i doubt they would go in the house or would they get a animal control person out?) Please help me.. I live in Michigan if that helps on some foreclosure information

My boyfriend and I bought a house together about a year and a half ago, a few months after buying the house we broke up. He wants to keep the house. Will he have to get the house refinanced to get my name off the house or is there another way to get my name off without refinancing it?

We went to visit a townhouse almost 4 weeks ago and nothing has gone smoothly. It took almost 2 weeks just to get a application and is now taking 2 weeks to do credit reports? I even printed out my own credit report to give to the potental landlord and he did not except it. I just don't know what to think at this point. Is he trying to legally reject the application by going through the necassary process? Or is he just being very thorough with the process? He "says" that we are the only ones he is running a check on.

If you purchase investment property in your own name, and get a mortgage on that property, etc, and then decide that you want to limit personal liability by moving the properties to an LLC, how do you go about doing that? Do you sell it to the LLC for $1? but then what happens to the mortgage? do you have to change the name from the person holding the mortgage to the name of the LLC?

Once you have an LLC established what do you need to do to make the transfers wholly legal. thanks in advance for your responses.

I want to have visitors staying, but what makes the difference between a visitor and a dweller. For instance they get their mail sent here. If they become a dweller do they get ownership rights? This is confusing me. If anyone can advise Id be very grateful. thanks

My husband and I each have stable jobs, but with the average 3% per year pay increases, we're only keeping up with inflation. We live in San Diego and are thinking of purchasing a condo in a few months to use as a rental property. This would be new for us, so I wanted to see if there was anyone else out there looking to do the same (or someone who has recently done this!) to get some advice on what you've heard, where a good place to learn more, etc. is. Thanks!
