We are getting ready to sell our house in Michigan. Previously I thought Realtor fees were fixed. However, I have heard recently that they are negotiable. How should I approach agents with this question, and what is a reasonable discount to expect?

I'm 24. I have my credit approved to buy a house. I feel so lucky the second real state agent I went to was very nice, explained everything, and offfered me a deal that was more than what I expected for the loan I'm getting. I still want to shop around, but the other agents I've seen are not helpful, they only want to convince me that I can only get the houses they want to show me which are not better than the plan I was already offered with this second agent. They offer me very high leases and high montly payments, and only want to show me houses that I know are not worth what they want to sell them for. I keep asking them to show me a better deal, but they insist they showed me their best deals. I want to know how get them to show me better deals before I decide to go with the second agent. He offered me something great, but I want to be 100% I won't get something better with another agency.

I listed a home 3 weeks ago. The agent has said his best sales tool is his website. It took him 1 week to get it on his site (only because I called him) and 3 weeks later he has still not corrected the mistakes on it. His "Hotsheet" which is supposed to have all his listings does not have my home on it. He placed an ad in the paper but it wasn't distributed in the same part of town as the house. I have held Open Houses and not seen him around. I need to sell this house NOW and he hasn't even shown the house to a prospective buyer! How long do I wait to fire him? What can I do to get his butt into gear?

do you have an extra 1800 lying around in your account? I don't, with relocation. She asked me to give her secured funds..so i withdrew the money. Why would she go and present them to the bank a day after i had already advised her that I had withdrew the money. It would be different if she didn't ask me to do bring her secured funds. I do understand your point.

My friend is a social worker and has worked in collections before. She is looking for a position where she can live on site and help manage the property while she concentrates on writing a book. Any ideas would be appreciated. What should she keep in mind about this type of a position?

There is more to the story. She has used the grounds that she presented my checks for payment., and they were NSF. Well of course they would be., I had just pulled the money out of my bank on Wed, like she requested. The underlying issue, I think..is that she is very religious and her tenants downstairs are as well. I did have beer in the fridge, and she probably discovered it when she came in, while I was not there, to retrieve furniture that was left behind from previous tenant. I don't want to live here, but I don't think she should be able to force me out in a day, don't I have 30 days or so?
