I keep a spreadsheet of my monthly expenses and incomes. For a while I have been including the $250 I contribute to my IRA monthly as an expense. My rationale: it's no longer play money. Any better ideas?

Your parents start saving for your sister's college education. She will begin college when she turns age 18 and will need $4,000 at that time and at the end of each of the following 3 years. They will make a deposit at the end of this year in an account that pays 6% compounded annually, and an identical deposit at the end of each year with the last deposit occurring when she turns age 18. If an annual deposit of $1,484 will allow them to reach their goal. How old is your sister now?

I plugged these values in:
FV = 16,000
PMT = 1,484
I/YR = 6
PV = 0

I got 16.17 by plugging this in my financial calculator.
Then I did 18 - 16.17 = 1.83 years old.

I have no idea what I did wrong because the answer is supposed to be 10 ....

Please help me.. =(

I have exactly $1.50 to my name right now and my room mate is very understanding of my situation but I really feel bad about him getting rent money late, not only that but I am very low on food. I get my pay check in a couple weeks but I'd like to find a place where I can donate plasma for money in Pittsburgh to tide me over. I live in sq. Hill and go to school at University of Pittsburgh so any location near either area would be preferred. Also if no one can find a place that pays for plasma, if anyone can give me information on the easiest way to donate it free I'll probably do it any way since its a good cause.

Hi,
I'm having some difficulty with my seller account on both these sites for whatever reason it's not allowing me to list Nintendo Wii's for sale I have three but it says "this item cannot be listed at the present time" I'm really frustrated as I've bought these consoles to sell through my account on these websites and I maintain a feedback rating of 97% over 312 sales on Amazon and 94% over 193 sales on Play.com.I've never had problems listing anything before could you tell me what you think the problem would be? I really appreciate your help.

Thank you

I have a friend (no seriously its not me) who has asked me about this. He hasn't paid a credit card bill for a couple of months and hasn't heard from them, but he thinks he should be getting a default notice through on it but because of the Royal Mail strike, he hasn't had anything. If he does get one can he argue that because of the strike he didn't get it in time and have it removed. I said i would post on here and am seeing him at weekend so any answers before then would be appreciated.
Than in advance

You not sure whether you get the job or not. And you are not sure what they do with the job applications with all the social security numbers. It is really safe to put you SS number on it? you are pretty much screwed if someone steals your identity...

I have been warned to not put all my eggs in one basket, specifically, do not keep all of my retirement money in the same account. They claimed that the money I put in is not insured in case the company I have it with (in this case Principal) happens to close shop. Is this true? What are some opinions?

I was somewhat well off until recently. By no means rich! I was able to pay my bills which is a nice comfort to have. I had great credit and got the best interest rates. Due to unforeseen circumstances, NOT within my control, I basically lost everything. My credit score now reflects my impoverishment. I am attempting to start over yet I am being crucified for my low credit. At this point I may never get back what I had. Each case needs to be reviewed with the individuals past credit history. You cannot control job lose, medical bills, poor economics conditions, etc. Having a low credit score can ruin your future and life for many years. That’s if you ever recover!

I worked as a babysitter and did other small jobs and put the money I earned in a savings account. Will I have to pay taxes or something because of this money in the bank? I mean I do not have a permanent job or anything and the money is not a large amount. Also can this affect my financial aid because FAFSA asks if the student has money in the bank. Thank You.

I know bankruptcy cannot be claimed on certain things like student loans. Does that rule apply to debts to another person such as a civil suit? (I might have heard of it, but not sure if it is true)

A friend of mine owes me $3500 dollars because the credit I allowed him to use was supposed to be for refueling his truck (tractor trailor business). I am much wiser now about credit I was 18 at the time. The bill got up that high because the truck broke down and he used the card to get it fixed. I found out he just declared bankruptcy. He makes the payments every month of $100. Just in case they stop coming in, I wanted to know is/was it possible for him to declare bankruptcy against me if I ended up having to sue in the end?

I'm not sure if the bankruptcy is complete or not so I'm not gonna hint at it to him yet in the event that the bankruptcy can be declared against me.
