About two years ago I lived in a apartment and now creditors are calling me saying that I owe a large sum of money. They won't let me talk... they ask me what my contengency is... Basically just demanding that i pay it and there are not other options. What can I do about this? I really feel abused and I really am losing my patience!!

Check out this website: http://www.creditinfocenter.com/ to learn your rights and the best way to handle them. I know for sure they need to provide proof of your debt to you and that you should put all communication to them in writing. They are also only allowed to call you at certain times of the day, etc. All of this information and more is on the site. Good luck!

Tell them until the supply WRITTEN documentation of the debt, you have nothing to talk about. If they say ANYTHING not directly related to sending you documentation, hang up. Repeat as necessary. They may be slow, but they DO learn.

Tell them to send you something that shows that you owe money and then hang up.

Change your phone # to an unlisted number & only give it out to essential people ( employer, family & friends).

You don't have to talk to them, just hang up or don't answer their calls
