what is about the normal monthly cost for an electric bill in an apartment or how do i determine how much it is going to cost?

It also depends on where you are and what is electric in the apartment. If you live in Buffalo and the heat is electric, you are going to pay through the nose for electric (add to the fact that the electricity rates are very high in WNY).

If you live somewhere moderate and electricity is cheap then maybe not so much.

The best predictor is past performance of the apartment, can you get copies of utility bills from the landlord?

It literally can be $20-$400 per month depending of all of these factors.

I'm guessing that average (no electric heat), in most areas is pretty close to $100 per month.

depends on the square footage... my condo is 1180 and we spend 100 in the summer months and 40 in winter months.... we live in central florida
we run air at 78 and its cold in our house we turn up to 82 when we are going to be gone longer than a hour
and we always have hot water heater running and almost always have internet on and computers
we also use dishwasher about 3 times a week

150-200 if your running and Ac unit
60-100 if you run every thing just when you needed it
