Is it leagal to put monies from loans into a CD? I got a student loan for the year, but I've only paid half my tuition (for the semester) and I was wondering if I could put the other half into a CD to gain interest. But I don't want to go to prison

My husband and I have wedding checks written out to both of our names and I have a few questions on how we need to sign the back of them for deposit into our joint checking.

Do we both need to sign them?

And some are written with my maiden name, how should I sign those? Should I sign both maiden and new married name?

Thanks!

My problem is that i dont know if i should get personal loan or an auto loan. What loan type usaly has a lower APR %. Im lookin to do a 60 month or a 72 month loan.

I checked with my local bank, and they sayed i can get a 4.9% for an auto loan. But they never mentioned a personal loan. So can anyone help me out. Even just a round about answer? thx

My boyfriend job is not reliable, so I am trying to save enough to cover both of our bills for 6 weeks. I put aside money every pay check, but I feel so far behind. My mom and dad have no money to lend me, and I feel funny asking family. What can I do? I will be hitting the 2nd hand store for baby items I need. Any other ideas?? Thanks!!!

How exactly does that work? If I have a 25K policy does that mean I can borrow that much for the bank or what?

I have a decent credit rating and it would be great if it wasn't for my income to debt ratio, although I have never been late on any payments (c.c., water bill, rent, car payment, etc). My income is in the 20s. Also, I can almost guarantee that I can pay the bank back in a week ( I can even write them the check for the loan amount the same day if they promise to not cash it for 7 days). Anybody out there who works for a bank think I stand a chance

i can't open a checking account so i'm stuck cashing all of my checks at check cashers location and they charge too much. i can't pay my bills easily so i have to make money orders to mail in and that takes longer than just sending in a check or having the payment withdrawn from my checking account. i can't wait 5 years. that's too long. is anyone else in the same boat and if so how did u deal with it?

My husband banks with NC State Employees Credit Union. Several weeks ago, he made the mistake of cashing some checks for a "friend" and giving the "friend" the cash. (The friend wrote the checks out to him, he cashed them at his bank, and he gave his friend the money.)

Of course, they bounced. I'm not really clear what made him think they wouldn't, since obviously the "friend" could not obtain the money himself for a reason. Anyway, now the bank is coming after my husband and threatening legal action if he doesn't come up with the money (approx. $6,000).

The "friend" keeps saying he will come up with the money, but so far, hasn't done so.

My question is this: What kind of legal action can they take against my husband?

Thanks!!!
