WAY TOO F---ING GOOD. (assuming you're talking USD per year, even before taxes)

I assume you're a nurse or a PA or a manager, but I hope with what you're making you're smart at managing it.

Think this way : Most people on min wage make $10-15K a year. So you're making 5 times them, this means if you live twice as good as them, you still saved 3x what they made in a year, if you can save that up in just 5 years, you'd have $150K, enough to buy a house either outright or a big portion down. That's what most people work 20 years to pay!

Of course, if you don't think you're making enough, I can't say anything, keep wasting away!

Yes, that is definitely a good pay rate for someone 23. But it also depends in part on where you live and work. If you're in NYC, where the cost of living is high, that's one thing. But if you're in Birmingham, that $74K will go a LOT farther, particularly for housing and taxes.

Another thing to consider: will your pay improve substantially over the course of your career? If not, will you have to move to make that happen?

And of course, are you happy in that line of work? If the answer to that is 'no,' then future increases certainly lose ther luster, don't they?

It ain't too bad for a 50-something either.

At 23, I hope you are putting a sizeable portion into savings and investments.

The age does not matter. It's a good salary for anyone at any age.
