When my father-in-law died, my mother-in-law needed help. Okay she had a "friend", not a man just a daughter type "friend" that was helping her out with her bills and things of that nature. Well my mother-in-law can't see very well, her diabetes is affecting her eyesight. She started getting calls from credit card companies and places she had accounts saying that she was two to three months behind on her payments. When she asked this "friend" she said she would take care of it. However this friend has not provided any reciepts or any of the money from the benefit that was held to help pay the funeral expenses of my father-in-law. She is now avoiding my mother-in-law.

I am very angry and I suspect that this woman has robed my mother-in-law and ruined her credit. How can we prove this and what can we do about it? I'm going to set up an account at my bank for my mother-in-law and I told her not to give this woman any more of her money.

What do yo all think?

My auto loan is due tommorow. I have the money, but I completely forgot to send it out and mail is really slow around here. I don't want to spend $30 to send it overnight. What I was wondering is if the check is postmarked on the due date (tommorow) will it be considered late? I called the bank and they're closed, and I have school tomorrow until 7pm. The bank is First State Bank if anyone is familiar with them. Should I send out a check? Or wait until tommorow to call? Do banks accept debit card payments for auto loans? I have no idea... Anyone with prior experience who wants 10pts please answer. Thanks in advance!

...some knickers or something so that i can pay my mortgage? I work but for a charity so my wage is not great, even though i'm qualified beyond degree level. I've had the shittiest year of my life - paid off my partner's debts (thousands of pounds) and then he left. I am now (and i never thought i'd hear myself say this) desperate.

1) Brooks Leech from Mt. Vernon Arkansas (March of 2007), he could've walked away with $147,000, had no safety net, goes one more time, knocks out that big dollar amount, and then plummets way down to $100?

2) Some woman from that Hurricane Katrina indient from
New Orleans who could've walked away with over $100,000 but then plummeted after she kept going without that safety net and walked away with $1?

3) Several other people who all could've walked away with at least $70,000 and then without their safety net, made the decision to still go for it but then took a big fall and walked away with less than $1,000?

Without a safety net and being able to walk away with $50,000 or risk plummeting down less than $1,000, I'd defintiely take the deal. To me, it'd be a no-brainer.
