If a wife worked and saved all her money in her bank account while the husband worked and paid all expenses, such as mortgage, taxes, insurance, food, utilities etc. The wife refuses to pay any family expenses. This has been for about 10 years.

Im a responsible person financially so stuff like this usually doesnt happen.. and i dont know what happens when it does.

I got paid yesterday (Friday) and didnt realize it takes a couple days for the check to be available at the bank.. i guess usually i have enough money where i dont notice.

anyways after i put it in the bank i immediately went out and made a 400 dollar purchase for something that i needed... not knowing that money will not go through until monday.

When that company tries to take the money out of my bank will it go through and then me just get a late fee?

or will the bank tell them "sorry the funds are there" and i also get a late fee!

I hate doing irresponsible things- any advice appreciated! The purchase was made on my debit card btw but using the credit card way (aka.. not putting in your pin) Right now it is a "pending transcation" in my account

I am not one to ask for financial help but, I am truly way behind on my bills like house payment, car, car ins, and all the other bills that come with owning a house. I am 26 and have a wife and a 2 yr old daughter. I just can't catch up. I am afraid of loosing everything. You know it really hurts me inside when I can't provide for my family. Me and my wife both work full time and don't go buying stupid stuff. We buy what we need for the family. I just can't make ends meet. If I can just caught back up I should be ok. But I need help. Please someone help. I am sorry if this sounds like a sob story, but I don't know where to turn. Please please help. I went to my state agency and they said my house payment is a luxury and they can't help unless I live in a trailer or rent. I think that is B.S I work and always have but you get people who are to lazy and get everything handed to them from all over the state and federal government.

my question is can I buy a house with my girlfriend and get a good interest rating on it? but is not as easy as it may sound, the issue is that my credit score is very low at 560 and my girlfriend credit is at 700, but I also make about 20000 more than her so if you guys know if it can be done let me know. thank you.

If both parties have bank accounts, mutual funds, annuities, stocks and other investment accounts, how do the courts divide them 50-50%?
1. Each account is split 50-50% ? Or they add up the cash accounts and divide by two ?
2. Do the courts write a letter to the financial institutions and ask them to send half the amount to the other party, or to the court ?
3. Fifty percent split is effective on the day of the court order, the day the judge signed the papers of the day the finacial institutions receive the papers ?
4. Are the stocks sold or just divided ?
5. etc. etc.
Answer only if you have first hand knowledge, (or you know a website where I can check) please ! Thanks

I haven't researched this, but I can write a credit card check for the total purchase price of a car I'm looking at, fixed APR of 3.9 percent until paid off, with a $199 transaction fee. At first glance, this seems like a no-brainer.

I got a rebate check today for my internet equipment; however, since the phone service is in my mother's name the check was sent to her.
Usually I deposit my checks in my bank account. Is it possible for me to deposit the check in my account if she signs it?

I am changing careers at age 43 due to unfortunate health
issues. I am a single woman with no spouse, no savings and no help during the past 6 months with bill paying. I have now found myself in quite a mess with my finances. My past credit score was excellent (high above average) & in the last 6 months it has dropped to fair (below average). It is very hard for me to make financial decisions & any advice would be helpful. My 1st idea & thought is to downgrade my SUV, hoping that in-turn it will allow a much lower mnthly payment. I have 1 year left before my truck is paid off, however, the payment is so high I will not be able swing the payments for the next 10-12 mnths. My bank will NOT refinance my auto & I'd rather not have a repo on my credit. I can't afford to get professional finacial advise, so I look forward to any suggestions. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH for your input. Sincerely, Im (Clueless):)

Options are new employer's 401k or an IRA. What are the pros and cons of each? Somebody told me that you could take money out of a ROTH IRA for non-traditional investments, like to buy property or a business. Is this true?
