I have been trying to get a loan. Ater almost getting scammed by Bramalea/Bramlea finacial and by a Mr. Richie Banks out of Nigeria, I am very leary about giving out my personal information. On prosper they ask for ssn, drivers liscense number and bank account information. I think thats a lot to ask at first. If anyone has had success with this please let me know. Thanks in advance.

I am a small lender with Prosper.com. I have been with this company since April 2007. I have allready helped fund five loans and my sixth one is pending as I am writing this. This company is in San Francisco. It has been featured in several magazines such as Newsweek and aired on national TV. This is not a scam nor a bank. I too as a lender had to disclose my ssn, driver's license number and bank account information. This is how business is conducted. I fully understand your concerns.

I also am a small lender on Prosper.com. It is 100% legit.
I have been involved in 20 loans since April 2006.

It's a legitimate site. It's people like you lending money to people like you website. They need to verify those information requested that you are legit and you have the resources to repay the loan. If you get the loan, they deposit the full amount of loan money minus their fees to your bank account and they do automatic monthly withdrawal from your bank account to pay back the loan.

This is info that's needed to obtain a loan, But I would be leery about giving out this info over the net.. I would like to loan out money on same site but afraid for same reasons..good luck
