Am I being cynical or is there a genuinely economic reason for borrowing rates to go up the minute they press the button, when savings seem to rise like lead balloons?

I was wondering if there were any grants, or loans for single mothers. I would like to buy a computer so I can start taking online classes, but I just cant afford to buy one outright.

When you pay a cheque in with the bank, do they pay the money into your account and then go about getting the money from the other person? Or do they get the money from the other person first and then pay the money they receive from the other person into your account?

Do banks have to increase there interest rate for savings accounts if the bank of england base rate increases? Is it a legal requirement or is it just how the bank feels at the time? Or do some banks increase their rate and to keep competition going the others have to increase their rate as well? How does the BOE base rate relate to the interest rate you get on a savings account?

Not on a debit mastercard or debit visa but just a regular credit card. I was told a card like a home equity line of credit would work faster. Is this true or not. I can't understand how money could be sent via a credit card: I thought you could just charge things on them. Does anyone working in that industry know anything about that. I have an inheritence from another country and it is not a scam I know for sure. I have never heard of transferring money this way, is it possible and how? Thanks for the help. Any information would help in this transaction. I do not want to break any laws. Thank You for helping with your wisdom it is greatly appreciated.

One hundred million is it too much money?
I'd clear all debts of family members and have a luxury holiday, probably donate a fair amount to charities for children and medical charities.
