My friends and I just rang up various companies I was owed £198.00 and my friend got £250.00 they send it in a cheque.
Worth a try before christmas :) good luck

I used to work for Powergen and just because it says pre pay it doesn't mean that when you put your token/card in thats all you get. It's like a saving scheme you build up your money and at the end of every quater you get billed. Because you've already given them money they just deduct the amount. You can be left over with a credit but you can also get a debit so don't get your hopes up.

Pre-payment meters are more expensive than a normal meter....9 times outta 10 there is a standing charge and the unit price is dearer. And if there isn't a standing charge you get 2 unit prices and a threshold. But both of these are increased (compared to normal meters.) It's like mobile phones you do pay more on pay and go rather than contract....it's just people on contract tend to use it more!

God I'm sad!

Those aren't really pre-payments, they are 1/12 of the expected annual usage and there's a good chance that you'll have to pay the money back at the end of the year, since winter is just starting.

Go onto "USWITCH" the cheapest supplier is dependant on area and amount of use . 2 Minutes on there will tell you whether it is worth switching and and how much you will save. By the way. Revisit the site once a month and switch every month (or week) if it is to your benefit. Let the companies do all the paperwork and sit back and laugh at them. By the way, my cheapest supplier for the last 3 months has been EDF Energy.

EVEN ON ORDINARY YOU CAN GET A REBATE IT DEPENDS ON HOW MUCH YOU USE PER YEAR DIVIDED BY 12 TO GET THE FIGURE IT IS DEARER WHEN YOU HAVE A METER PRE PAYED EXPERIENCE TELLS ME, THOUGH I WOULD RATHER HAVE A METER THAT USES ONLY WHAT I PUT INTO IT.

Yes it works. A friend of mine puts £10.00/month on her card & it ran out occasionally. She received a statement marked "For Information Only" Credit £188.00. I phoned up for her & she will be receiving a cheque for the full amount.
