My manager is new with the company and he is bringing four coworkers with him from his previous company. Me and one other girl are the outsiders. So far I'm not impressed. He can't give me clear answers on the medical insurance coverage, he tells me one thing then says another. I can't get straight answers out of him on anything. I didn't get an official offer of employment letter - just a generic packet with random information on the company and a insurance form to fill out (with no insurance information as to what plans are offered). I email him asking him questions about the forms I'm filling out and he emails me back with vague answers and says "Just two more days before the fun begins" (meaning 2 more days until I start). I think this guy is a quack. The other girls he hired look like topless dancers - I'm from the corporate world and very professional. I feel out of place and not at all confident this is a manager I can trust or rely on. But I need this job. ???

My dad got me a VISA gift card for $100. He said that where ever they took VISA I could use it!
I was trying to buy a song on iTunes and I entered the credit card number and the security code and everything!
But it said that it wasn't a valid credit card!
Why is it that I cant buy things online with this card?
Or atleast on iTunes, where they DO take VISA?

My husband made about $5,500 before he was laid off earlier this year. On unemployment he got a little over $9,500. Unemployment wasn't taxed so will we even get a refund? We have two children and thanks to the layoff we are about to lose everything!
I looked online but can't find any way to estimate what we might get back if anything.

I am wanting to claim 60,000 in total earnings. I was wondering how much I would have to pay in. I am not head of household I go to school, I have one child, and I live in Indiana. I want to know an estimate of what I will be paying in to state and federal taxes. I am also wondering if they do this in monthly installments if I don't have the finances right away. If so how much?

I live in Cleveland and there are no jobs, so I am thinking of relocating to a place with a better job market. My boyfriend is an Art teacher, and I am not looking for anything in particular, an office job would be fine with me, just something to pay the student loans back for right now.

I'm an administrative assistant for a company with 2 offices. I have my own office in my building and share it with no one. On my floor there is a receptionist. She handles the calls for the whole floor including any questions/complaints i might have. Her desk is right off the elevator to the floor, she does not have an office. Is it wrong to think of her as MY receptionist instead of us being equals?

I have about 50 acres of land in Louisiana. A person on a neighboring piece of land about 400 yards over is having a well put in place on his land. I'm almost positive that there is oil and gas on my property as well. Testing has shown oil to be throughout the area. It follows a path once called the Tuscaloosa Trend. What is the best route I can take to have a well set up on my property to allow drilling?

I am looking at a house that is bank owned. They have it listed for 99.5K however i looked it up and it was forclosed for 55K. My dad thinks i should offer 65K but i think with legal fees, and commisions and such that is not going to fly. My gut says to ask for 75 to 80k with closing cost and expect they may meet me in the middle. The house is in very good shape and only needs some minor work. Most of which can wait a year or two.

I have been hearing about a pay-for-delete agreement?
What is this?
And I have also heard that if a collection is over 5 years old, don't try to pay it off because it will hurt your score rather than help it,
I;m trying to figure this out because my husband has some collections on his credit from years ago , before we were togther, and its hurting his credit, and now that we are toghter I want to try and clean his credit up. His score is a 545, and we need at least a 580 or better to get financing for a home. Would it be better to get a credit consouler?

I live with my sister while I'm going to college. My only source of income...or my only source of money...is from financial aid which of course goes towards tuition, books, etc. Do I need to file that in taxes/pay taxes on it? My brother-in-law says I don't have to (he knows a lot about taxes), I just want to make sure to be safe.

I signed a lease to live in a 1 bedroom apt for 6 months. After I moved in, I realized that the apt is too small for us. Plus the apt is on the first floor with 4 AC machines right outside of my window. It was very noisy at night. I did look at the apartment before I signed the lease, but that was a standard unit of 2 bedroom. They said that they don't have anything 1bedroom available to show me then.
I spoke to the apartment manager couple of times that I want to switch to a 2bedroom and upstairs apartment within the same complex. However, she said I already signed the lease, and I can't make any change untill the lease expires. So far, I only lived here for about 3 weeks. I said that I want to breach the lease and move somewhere else, she said that I have pay off all 6 months rent to do so.
What is the legal resolution for this?
