I'm an administrative assistant for a company with 2 offices. I have my own office in my building and share it with no one. On my floor there is a receptionist. She handles the calls for the whole floor including any questions/complaints i might have. Her desk is right off the elevator to the floor, she does not have an office. Is it wrong to think of her as MY receptionist instead of us being equals?

Call her "THE receptionist" or "OUR receptionist." "MY" is a bit much.

(No she's not your equal, but you are both support staff, so play nice. A good receptionist is worth her weight in gold. Our old receptionist was fantastic at making juniors look good. You'd come in late from lunch and she'd tell you "your boss was looking for you; something about the xyz account." It gave you plenty of time to get the info and go to him to give a status report instead of being blindsided at your desk.)

It does seem a bit condescending, but without knowing the organizational details it is hard to say if you are in fact equals. Do you pay her salary or does the company? Does she perform the same duties for others in the company? Is there an organziation chart that shows who works for who?

To avoid any misunderstandings, why not just call her "the receptionist" instead of "your" receptionist? Or why not just use her name?

yes it is wrong, don't be so possessive, you dont' own anyone. You guys both could be dropped just as quickly as the other, and FYI, she probably makes more money than you so get off your high horse.
