A month ago, my boss cut everybody's hourly rate, then, he cut our hours. He found out I had applied for a job - called me in & asked if I had applied for a job someplace and I said that I had - he said my final check would be mailed out that afternoon and asked for my office keys! Can I get unemployment?

In order to get business I must send out the resturaunts menu's. Its expensive to have them sent through regular mail. Alot of resturaunts here have people put up the menus on peoples doors.I hired some people to do that, and today i had someone call and say that "I DONT WANT THESE MENU TO BE PUT ON MY DOOR, IF I SEE IT AGAIN I WILL CALL THE POLICE AND HAVE YOU ARRESTED". Now my question is that is it ILLIGAL?? to put up flyers on peoples homes? AM i breaking the law? And if some people dont want them then iI wont put it on their doors.. but can they have u arrested just for putting up flyers???

We have a lease that expires May 31, 2008. Due to financial situations, we are considering breaking it. We have a $375 dollar concession each month which the lease states we have to pay back if we break our lease, plus 60 days notice, meaning 2 more months or rent. Our consession total is $2625.00 as of today. So to break it today, we would have to pay $4575.00. Are there any ways around this? Are there any legal reasons that you can break a lease?

I live in ky and me and my husband are trying to purchase the home we have rented for 8 years. Then today we get a call and a company we owe money(tried to settle) put a lien on our rental. How can they put a lein on something we dont even own? So if anyone has awnser I just want to know the legal details to them doing so. The original owners of home are rightly upset and whats worse is its under $500.00.Of course thats money we do not have and time to work out as we must close on the 2nd of January. PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE if you have any helpful info.

and has filed the proper paperwork is it customary for the company they work for to call them not to say " Come back to work" word for word but to subtly imply that there are others who need time off too and they just wanted to check on you to make scheduling arrangements? I have had to extend my leave twice and will go back on Thursday pending an ok from the doctor on Tuesday.

Are they always going for the highest offer? Do they take buyers' credit record, down payment, affordability and all other factors into their consideration?

One check before Christmas and my job over pays me $166. They catch the error ask me not to touch it but I told them I had already been using it. They pulled thier money back out through the direct deposit leaving the account overdrawn by over $300, and insufficiant funds charges on the way. They are using an outdated excuse that they are not obligated to pay because the handbook says checks are given on Friday. I work a 3-day 12 hour shift and before that 4-day 10 hour. I can't remember the last check I got on a Friday! Also they have not used a Friday pay date for my shift for a long time. Guess it is convient to keep an old outdated handbook around while ruining a Christmas for a 6 year employee. I got my Christmas check Dec. 29th.

A friend of mine and I decided to make money on a flip. Age old, over budget and now we can't sell. He wants to keep the property. 72,000 bank loan, 25,000 additional note (carried by partner). Property appraises approx. $130,000. Gross rent on the 4 unit apartment complex (2bed/1bath units completely remodeled) is $2000/month. Is $25,000 too steep of an acceptance price for a buy out?

And just to throw this in there. There was no real note drawn up on the $25,000. The money was used to complete the flip and is owed back to the partner when sold, but if he keeps the property he would consider leaving it as equity in the property - but there is no set payment or interest rate applied to it.

If partner doesn't agree to buy out price - are there options of selling my share to someone else willing to be part owner of such a venture?

I watched as the delivery guy left an InfoNotice on the door WITHOUT bothering to ring the doorbell! And then he drove away, not making any attempt to see if I was home!
(I was home, but wasn't decent so I wouldn't have answered the door anyway. My problem is with the fact that this person didn't knock or ring or ANYTHING.)

I thought my quartly taxes were 15.3% medicare PLUS whatever my income tax would be but the rep. are IRS said that if I just multiply my income times 15.3% that should cover all of my taxes, income and medicare due on my income. Concerned that she may have been wrong I called and spoke with a different IRS agent who told me the exact same thing. Is that right?
