My mother in law passed away earlier this month. She left one or two credit cards in her name only with balances less than $5000 total. How should I handle this for my father in law?

January 2005, i purchased a new car.
my grandfather co-signed with me.
later on i could no longer afford this car. i put an ad on the internet (autotrader.com) and got an email from a gentlemen claiming to be an auto-broker. i was so desperate to get rid of this car. i emailed him back and agreed that his client could buy it. i was selling this car online for 11,000. the gentlemen (the scam artist) sent me an email saying that he would send me a check for 19,000, the extra money was for shipping the car to where his client lived. supposedly. the check that was sent to me was counterfeit. the kicker is, i sent him the remainder of the 7-8,000 that was for "shipping" purposes and now the bank is holding me responsible for the money i wired the scammer. i had to give the car back to the bank. i owe the bank 6 grand for the car and another 6 grand for the money that that scammer took from me. can the 6 grand for the scammed $ be discharged in bankruptcy?
(i paid some of this bill)

I've done the corporate thing, and although it made me a decent living, I was miserable. So I made the commitment to myself to pursue my music career, ALL THE WAY. Not trying to find time after a long hard days work at a stuffy corporation then come home EXHAUSTED and try to muster up some creativity to write some music. I just wasn't working at all. Since i've been unemployed my craft has gotten stronger, and I know its only a matter of time until it really starts to pay off (i've made a few bucks here and there, but it's not steady). Being unemployed is really starting to take its toll. I have montly benefit checks that come in but its not nearly enough to pay my ever growning debt. Any advice on how to take control over this situation? I know that getting a job is the most obvious choice but getting a job will take away from my music, which I am working full time on. It's tricky but I know it can be done... I just don't know how!

I have a $2500 debt with Capital One. I got in financial trouble in college and I was not able to pay it off in time. My debt has bounced around to several different law firms and the new one is trying to make me pay 400 a month until I pay it off. If I don't they said I would be served. Is this threat real and how often do they come after people this hard. I basically have nothing they could put a lien on as I am still in huge financial trouble.

I have an agency suing me for $452 and they name the places but not the bills, all which I paid off except for 1 and that wasnt 452,are they able to sue for bills that are already paid or are they trying to get me to pay the fees for their clients to hire them?

I'm in the process of getting my first card and I heard (from an unreliable source) that it is not a good idea to pay your balance IN FULL each month, but to stick to just paying your minimum balance or higher instead in order to build credit. Is this true? I ask because in an effort to avoid overspending, I was thinking of just like buying a 30 dollar carton of cigarettes each month and then once the bill comes to just pay the whole thing off...but then I heard that was not a good idea.

Im just having a hard time due to only getting half of my normal income. Can I pay half of my payment and still keep my car? The second late payment just came due on the 14th. I can catch up in January but will they apply the 400.00 to the late fees or should I just call and explain why I am sending the $400.00. Thank u!

Approximately 6 months ago, a debt I had with a company went into collections. I had disputed the debt, but to no avail. Since then, the collection agency has attempted to contact me via telephone 5-10 times a day every single day on my cell phone. I intentionally avoided the calls. Is this harrasment?

why is it at some places you have to sign your name and show ID but at places like "pay at the pump" gas stations you don't have to do anything except swipe the card and go isn't this dangerous if someone gets your card couldn't they keep filling their tanks on your dime until the card is reported stolen which if you don't use it often could be awhile

okay, well i used to have phenomonally great credit...but there has now been a few things.
first, i have a house i'm trying to sell and that's up there now..
but my question is there has been a mix up with a utility company that i had for service about 2 years ago. they are saying i owe them money and had sent it to a collection agency. i wasn't even living stateside for the time that the amount accumulated, and so i have tried disputing it. basically it's been in progress since october, and they are still sitting on it like fat chumps. i have contacted a lawyer about it and basically they have told me it's sitll in the company's time frame to handle my dispute so i can't do anything aobut it right now. how bad is it going to effect my credit and whatnot?? when i moved back to the states i had to go through credit chekcs for EVERYTHING and took a lot of hits b/c of them..so i'm becoming very nervous about loosing my good standings i had when it was 760. any suggestions??

Is it legal for a creditor to call you and start harresing you saying that you are looser and you are not going to make payment and that they are going to sue you and all the bad stuff they wanna say to you?

I was screwed by a sale guy and a company to signup for $6000 contract for a credit card mechaine that acutally cost $500.00. The sales guy left the company just after signing that contract for me.
I have already paid $2400 but now I want to fight this. When the bill collector called me, I asked him to provide me the info on this bill but he said why should he provide it. He said he is going to sue me.

Has anyone ever heard of this site? My best friend is trying to find a personal loan with bad credit. She came across this site in her internet search. Apparently, you pay to post a listing for a loan request and allegedly lenders may chose to help you based on your listing. I had never heard of this site prior to her mentioning it to me, and I can't seem to find any reviews on it anywhere. They claim to have been around for a while, but the only place I find any information on them is from their own site. If anyone has had any dealings with them, positive or negative, I would appreciate any feedback.
