I'm a hard working 19y/o searching for a job. For someone my age, my experience (career wise) overqualifies. At the age of 19, I managed to work in security, sales, retail, telecommunications, fashion design and my biggest accomplishment - co-own & manage a 1000sq. foot clothing shop.

I've done a tremendous job in all of my past positions, even had awards and positive feedbacks. But when it comes to applying for another job, I kind of "chicken out" and think that I won't get a response after sending my resume or application...And during interviews, it's so hard for me to be myself and explain/describe myself to the interviewer. I run out of words, making the interviewer think that my resume/application is all BULLSHHHT...

Can anyone relate? help?

I'm looking for a job and I have seen a few for this position. It seems like an independant contractor type of job where you drive your own vehicle. Does anyone do this for a living and can tell how much I can expect to make

already? I have a total of 75 credits from all the colleges I have attended, but I need a bachelor degree that is verifiable when I apply for positions. I know the positions and what to do, but that piece of paper is keeping me from a higher paying job (basically a resume/candidate eliminator).

Any suggestions??

i haven't been very well this year and i've used up almost all my sick days. i think i can only take one more until after next april. i know as winter aproaches that i'll be sick again, everyone is at this time of year. i never take days off just for a bad cold, unlike some. i know that one more day and i'll face some kind of disciplinary action. but should i really face that and have it go on a record for a potential new employers reference or hand in my notice where they are not allowed to say anything bad about me?

I'm a 4.0 student in highschool but i still don't know what I want to be.
I know that it would probably be in business, computers, or the medical field. Something with science or computers. I might be a business leader or something. Anybody know a high paying job of these categories. Or a website with a list of careers and pay salary or whatever.

I work for a department store, I dislike my job and really want to leave. The problem is that I have made lots of friends there and I do like the environment, its just the job/department i work in, which I dislike.

I have an interview for a concession within the store this week, but its going to be extremely awkward for me as i'll be worrying that i'll bump into my manager, and It will probably be obvious i'm going for an interview.

I really want to pursue this, and why shouldn't I? But what can I do if my manager finds out and especially if I don't get the job and have to stay. Can he fire me for applying elsewhere?

I just asked a question about "working from home" ideas... but I was also wondering if anyone knows of a job that would allow you to bring your child with you. Heres the deal... Im a stay at home Mom, i want to make some money, but I will not leave my son at a daycare. No offense to anyone who uses daycare, its just not for me. Any ideas?

I am a stay at home Mommy, and I wouldnt change that for a thing, however, I do miss contributing (financially) to our family. Does anyone know of a legitimate work from home job? Something that I could do on the computer? I have a small child, and my husband and I are planning on having another one soon, so anything that is truly "from the home" would be ideal. Im not into hosting parties or anything like that. Any ideas would be helpful, thanks.

Does it look bad on an application if I check do not contact current employer?

I do not want my current employer to know that I am looking for jobs. I also do not think that they would give the best reference for me, the job is not a good fit for me. I am looking for employment in a totally different line of work, my current job is working with young children with special needs, I am applying for jobs in retail.

If someone has to take medical leave for injuries obtained outside of work? Someone I know has to have surgery, but he's the only one in the household who's earning wages. If he takes a leave of absence, he'll be broke in a hurry; I'm wondering if there's any way to offset this.

In the last couple days i've been trying to leave my current job. my 1st attempt i was giving notice but it didn't work my boss was talking me out of my choice telling me i couldn't leave. 2nd attempt i got little harsh and started packing my things and couple coworkers saw this and started to panic and called my boss and told him the situation We then speak and discuss why i'm leaving he was saying i wasn't being rash on my thinking that i needed some time away to clear my mind to come back with empty mind - so was told to go on leave of absense. The major delma i have now is i took job offer at new Company which i start on the 1st of October. I reallly didn't want to mention that it was cause i got an offer else where because in the past i've had offers that i use to leverage bump in my salary. If i mention that they would say i'm taking advantage of the company for my own greed. What does one do at this point ? I'm totally lost

Ok, I work as a receptionist and I honestly hate this job because it is so boring!!! I just answer the phone which rings like once every 20 minutes....I sometimes type letters etc, but sometimes I have nothing to do, and I do look for things to do like filing, organzing my desk etc but once I'm done with that there is nothing else to do.....the 3 people I work with are nice but they are all in their 50's or 60's and I feel like I have nothing in common with them. And I feel so sad when I go to work, what should I do????? It took me so long to find this job but I'm honestly so unhappy with it.

I started working about a month ago at this place and my boss, on my first paycheck, cheated me a couple hours, but he said i wasnt clocking in correctly, and i didnt have proof that i was. So this time around i saved all my clocking in papers and kept them, next thing you know, my paycheck shows up and its a good 50 dollars short. I made copies of the clock in papers i have and im going to go in there and show him... is this a good idea. Im in highschool and hes done this to my other friends (he cheated one over 100dollars)... so i quit and todays my last day. Do you think he will give me my money if i have just the copies? i am NOT going to give him the originals because if i dont get money then my parents said we are turning him in.
