GROCERY STORES... Wal-Mart is always hiring, however, i worked there and they RARELY hire someone under the age of 18. In fact, they only had one person under the age of 18 where I worked. Honestly, I think they only hired her because her sister worked there too. I would apply to Wal-Mart but DON'T give your hopes up. Maybe other areas have Wal-Marts that hire 16 year olds. There are way more laws to abide by when hiring someone underage. Grocery stores, however, are more flexible to hiring a 16 year old. Not many above the age of 18 apply at a grocery store. Grocery stores tend to hire for part time work only, and for someone who needs to make a living off their job, a grocery store is not ideal. I would also keep in mind the more flexible you are with hours the better chance you have. If you state you are willing to work weekends they will be more likely to hire you. If you are available evenings that would make you even more valuable. However, if you are still in school make sure you can handle the hours you say you are available. Maybe only apply for friday saturday and sunday. Maybe even a thursday night when the school week is almost over anyhow. Know what you can handle and go for it!!!

They are always hiring at Walmart because people are always quiting. This is the best place to start and advance. Even if you do not ace the interview, they will hire you anyway and then tell you what positions are open and you choose which one you are interested in. You have to be at least 16 to work there.
I applied once and got called for an interview but didn't come in (too lazy), then I applied again and got called again for the interview and I went through the interview, there were no right or wrong way to answer the questions. If you can read and speak english they will hire you. The main questions they ask during the interview was "Tell me about yourself" (you could say I'm in school and I'm looking for part time work. I am a hard worker and fast learner.) The 2nd question they ask is "Where do you see yourself in 5 years?" (you can say. I see myself in the management position working for this company because I am a hard worker, self motivated, goal oriented, and a team leader) Then BAM you're hired!

Dress neatly and go fill out applications at local retail and fast food places, especially any that have "HELP WANTED" signs in their window.
Good luck.
