Keep it simple, to the point, and most importantly, nothing negative! Do not answer any question as to where you are going and why you are quitting. Those are taboos. Just say, "personal reasons" if you have to give an answer. Don't be surprised if your manager walks you out immediately. Some company do this as a matter of routine.

Dear (your manager's name);

Please accept this letter as a formal notification of my intent to resign from (company name). My last day will be two weeks from today, (put a date two weeks later here).

I would like to take this opportunity to thank my managers and collegues for the opportunity, and the experience.

Sincerely,
(put your name here)

Just keep it simple. Here is the resignation letter I used when I left my last job:

To Whom It May Concern:

Please accept this as my resignation from my position as [your position]. My last day of employment will be [Date].

Sincerely,

[Your name]

**Remember to sign your name in the space between "Sincerely" and Your typed name.

If you are leaving on good terms and dont want to burn your bridges maybe some explination would be good.

I regret to inform you of my resignation effective 12.12.07.

I would like to thank you for your support and encouragement over the years.

I am more than happy to stay on for 2 weeks to help with the training and development of a new staff member.

Simply a notification that you will be leaving the job on a certain date. You're not obligated to explain why.
