i'm a full time student and when i applied for unemployment one of the questions that they ask is if i am enrolled in school? why do they need to know this? it going to affect me wheather or not i am able to collect? i was discharged from my former employer? i live in the state of illinois

They need to know this , because to qualify ,
You must be seeking full time employment .
If you are a student , you are generally Not available for full time employment .

If you are enrolled in school, you might be considered as not available for work, so you wouldn't be eligible for unemployment. Talk to the uc people - this doesn't necessarily disqualify you if you are ready and able to work most shifts.
