so i have a couple questions...first and foremost i know i would be doing a lot of driving..i love driving though and it's the only thing i'm really good at. I deliver now, i've driven across the country, to canada, florida...one time i even drove from oklahoma city to philadelphia without stopping (27 and half hours..i know that wasn't safe)
so that parts def fine with me. I only drive stick and i'm up to the challenge of learning how to drive a big rig..
the only thing that bothers me is i dont like to be away from my sig other so much...so
are there truck driving jobs that i can take without driving over the road like regional or statewide?..being a new driver
and how readily available are those jobs?
I also hear that some companies will let you partner up with your husband/wife? I'd like to get more insight on that?
and also how many female truck drivers are there?
and is being a female truck driver at truck stops any more unsafe than being a male one?
anything else to add?

I'm looking for a certain career field in which you have the option to opt to travel. International Teaching was the career I found that give you this option of either teaching from the states, or going anywhere in the world as you please. I was wondering if their were similiar careers that give you this option?
Thank you.

My partner works for a driver at a hire firm. He is on minimum wage and desperate to better himself so we can have a better standard of life.

He would like to do his Driving Instructor Training, or HGV Licence, but both courses cost around £2,000+

We have no savings to pay for these courses and his family have refused to help (even though they have the money!). We cannot get a Career Development Loan as we have a very poor credit history.

He even asked his employers if they would pay for him to do his HGV licence and they said no. They are not prepared to spend the money.

I have searched and searched and cannot find any help at all. I cannot beleive that nothing is available to help a man who so desperately wants to better himself. Please do anyone have any ideas, this is so frustrating!

I am trying to decide if i should be a Carpenter or a Mechanic. Now, I mean any kind of mechanic not just the ones at goodyear. Also any type of carpenter, framing, finishing, cabnet making., ect. As far as I know is that carpenters can make better money in the long run and I could eventually become a foreman or even a project manager. The thing that worries me is people say that the union isn't very reliable and you can be out of work for sometime. Also people say it is dangerous. (I think only because you have to work around poeple in the union). Now being a mechanic I think I wouldn't make as much, and I would always have to work for someone and never start doing my own thing. However, I figure its less dangerous and more stable. My gandfather was a carpenter and killed himself making his own houses after work, but he made alot of money that way. I would like to eventually make around $70,000 a year. Also I live in Sacramento, California.
People who know let me know???

I have been working on a short contract at Three in Maidenhead through Project People. The work is advanced
MS Access development. Because of my age I now find it difficult to get work, I'm 53.
I had been out of work for 4 months and took this contract at £10.00 ph. The normal rate for
this type of work is around £35 ph. The work will actually take about three months.
I've had many problems with the agency. Too many to list here. They are appalling.
I've tried to negotiate the rate with the agency with out success. I had to negotiate
an extension of the contract with Three myself because the agency did nothing. Should I ask Three
if they will go through a different agency ? it will break the contract they have with
Project People. Do you know which other agencies Three uses. Will I even get paid by
Project People I've been told so many lies by them I wonder if they are crooks. I'm also
considering asking Three how much they pay the agency ?

I am a graduate student. Recently, my university chose me to in the university's Brochure as a "Hero" story.

It's a wonderful thing. I am just wondering how can I use this opportunity to enhance my competitive advantages. Can I put this in my resume on a reward section?

I hope to pursue my Ph.D and my career in the United Nations, NGOs, or Non-profit organizations. It's a very competitive world out there. Any suggestion on this? Thank you so much for your kindness.

I have been asked to be a supervisor.

I am hard working, reliable and trustworthy.

I am reliable, I have been told by the manager that I lead by example and the manager trusts me to look after a team of 5, there are more people coming to work for us.

Thanks

I am wondering how long some people have ever been out of work? I do temporary jobs, but there has been no work lately. I refuse to collect unemployment and I don't think I could since I was not fired from my last job. Just curious.

If you applied for a job a year ago and you didn't get the position and now a year later you apply for that same position and they call you for an interview do you go? This is a state laborer position, it pays very well.

I applied for a position about 4 months ago with this really great company. It came down to me and 3 other candidates. In the end, I didn't get the job. I felt that I was genuinely qualified for the position, but maybe my personality kept me from getting the job. (I often get quiet and nervous during interviews) Recently, a similar position with the same company has opened up. I contacted the ladies who interviewed me and have an interview set up. But now I am having doubts. I have been on several interviews over the past few months without a successful outcome. Whereas I feel I'm much calmer and confident during interviews, I'm not sure what my chances are considering that I haven't had any additional work experience since I last interviewed with this company 4 months ago. How can I convince them that I am the right person for the job this time around?

I had a very interesting job with decent income 2 months ago with a lot of free time in hands and good time with colleges. But I wasn't sure if I would have a brilliant career by doing that for long. Then I found this current job will perhaps do me good with my future career, but my income is shrunk and my life is less fun, less free time and more serious, also lost a lot of chance hanging out with my friends. Should I give up this job and go back to my previous work?
