My partner works for a driver at a hire firm. He is on minimum wage and desperate to better himself so we can have a better standard of life.

He would like to do his Driving Instructor Training, or HGV Licence, but both courses cost around £2,000+

We have no savings to pay for these courses and his family have refused to help (even though they have the money!). We cannot get a Career Development Loan as we have a very poor credit history.

He even asked his employers if they would pay for him to do his HGV licence and they said no. They are not prepared to spend the money.

I have searched and searched and cannot find any help at all. I cannot beleive that nothing is available to help a man who so desperately wants to better himself. Please do anyone have any ideas, this is so frustrating!

he already works two jobs. I'm at home looking after our nine month old son. We can do no more than we're doing and it would take us ages to save up over £2,000 anyway you stupid cow.

If yopu want to become a Dreiving Instructor it will now cost around £3.000 if you are in the UK, Now the best way to go about it so you do not have to pay all the money upfront is to join BSM school of motoring, you can pay as you go along and still a living, not as much as going it alone which you can do at a later date but that is the best way to do it these days.

Job centre/government will only help with retraining costs if you are disabled and returning to work, disadvantaged or something like that, sorry they just don't have the funds for English people, too busy housing & retraining our foreign immigrant friends.

Yeah career dev loan is out, so maybe just keep shopping around for loans that are ok with bad credit but high %

If he has a breakdown then goes on incapacity for 12 months then seeks work the job centre will retrain...

I know your husband has no time but look as this business. This is something you can do with your son so you wouldn't have to leave him and you can make the £2000 in a few months so you can pay for the retraining.
If this is not for you you should try to read other books about using money like "rich dad poor dad"
or richest man in babylon

Tell him to try and get a job as a bus driver - they will train him for free, and the pay is quite good - I believe the only stipulation is that he remain employed with them for a period of about 2 years.

If you reallyyyy cared ,
You would get a 2nd job and save the $$$ for the course ,
Instead of trying to get it off of others .
