graduated in '05. bs in accounting. 3.7gpa. was out of work for nearly 2 yrs.
a lot can factor into it. besides it being a crappy job market as far as lack of hiring & lack of pay, the job may sux & may not be rite for u.
the big bucks come win u've gained experience while obtaining ur degree n ur recruited and brought on immediately as part of the team. i currently work a temp position, but it's pretty solid. over the past yr. i've gained specialized experience & knowledge on accounts; responsibilites that can't be replaced. i've had the opportunity for a promotion but have chose to remain where i am. the company i work for seems to only want to hire people near their 50s. im the only one in the office under 30.
look for a company with high turnover (job sucks) in a specialized industry. get ur foot in the door. just do ur job & dont complain. learn. perform. prove urself. then, move up or move on.

My heart really goes out to people, as the number one job career field is now janitor. We have become a service economy with manufacturing going overseas. The secret to the new millennium is Emotional Intelligence or understanding emotions. It is being taught in major corporations and being used by everyone on job applications, it's so important. It measures how well we will work with others and is a measurement of thinking ability, as well as, success in life, including work. It develops into intuition, that uses the whole mind, and creativity, so necessary in a competitive market and a technology war. Corporations are now hiring poets and artists, MFA's, as well as MBA's. I have free information on my website and profile. I live to serve and not to be served, although a freerer world is a better one for all of us, so there is no charge for anything. hbar12 You have to get at the core problem. That is not age, but adaptability, awareness, alertness, smarts and you can see the value of creativity in job hunting. And attitude is everything, also lol The people and negotiating skills, that come with EI, are necessary on the job and in networking to find one. People know what jobs are comming up in there companies and are filled before you get there by people on their network. When you get the big picture then the pieces fall in place. Or else all the rules are out of sync and hardly work at all. Peace.

Oh, yes.
Especially when you are over 50, & don't have a permanant job!
If you are over 50, you are useless to the job market, no matter HOW much experiance you have!

It depends on what kind of job you are looking for. What are your skills, education, experience, etc... It may take from 1 month to a year....
