I'm looking for a job and I have seen a few for this position. It seems like an independant contractor type of job where you drive your own vehicle. Does anyone do this for a living and can tell how much I can expect to make

Hey I did the cable independent contractor job for about 6mths, didn't work out too well for me. I have seen people make 1200-1400 a week. Highest I made was about 800-900. You have to supply your own tools as well and own gas. We worked a big area so gas ran me about 100-150 a week. Some of the companys are shadey though, watch out. There were lots of days that I got no work at all. I would diffinitely ask about amount of jobs daily you should expect.

Satellite installers usually get paid per installed dish. Cable guys are hourly. Depends on your skills, apprentice pay is around 24-30K a year. More experience you can make up to 70k.

Employee? Less than 40k/year.

But, you can soon become an independent and start your business where you buy dishes wholesale, and sell the installed product (most people don't want to bother installing themselves and risk falling from the roof).
