Maybe you have an answer for this, maybe you don't. I'm a 23 year old male working in a fast-paced high-tech business where I am an INTERN and most of the employees have advanced degrees and have years of experience. The good part of my job is I'm kind of treated like an employee...not the "go get me some coffee intern" that you might be thinking of...really, it's not like that at all. But still, I feel that I am being excluded and undermined because of my age/lack of wisdom/etc. It doesn't help that I look like I'm 18 years old (as made apparent when I tried to buy an "M" rated video game (god of war 2) and needed to show ID!

What do I do? Sit here and ride it out for another 5 years until I can get some respect?

so i worked at a McDonald's in a mall for 2 months n my probabtion ended but they didnt want me to come back because fast enough. I'm still confused about it. I would love to write that at least I had SOME WORK EXPERIENCE but telling future employers the real answer would be too embrassing and lessen my chances of employment, right? yet I want to try to apply for other McDonald's(not mall ones) so I have a feeling they would hire me but then if they ask why I dont work there any more I dont know what I would say. What do you think about all these? should I apply anyways? most likely some McDonald that i'll apply to will call me for an inteview since i have some experience but then i'd be worried if they dont hire me just because i worked for so little and wasnt good enough in the previous place and you know, fast food is all about being fast! but I now learned my mistake and I feel like if I had another chance, I would not make the same mistakes and actually be better!

I'm looking for a good at home job. I'm a hard worker and always have to be doing something, but it has been frowned upon with a lot of the jobs I've worked because if i work at my pace it "raises the bar" for the other workers and they get mad because they have to work harder. I've tried a couple of the at home jobs, I'm signed up for more than 100 survey websites, and the "data entry" one i got i had to download a bunch of ad blasting software and it got me nowhere. Does anyone have any suggestions? With experience and links please :)

Thanks A lot!

I have a interesting situation at my place of business. I recently graduated with a Bachelor's in accounting. I am currently pursuing my Master's degree in accounting. I have been working at my job for 1-1/2 years, but after I graduated, my boss never gave me an appropriate raise.

The pros about where I work is that I have really flexible hours. Since I am attending college still, my boss allows me time to take off and study for a test or work on projects as needed. However, althought I do not take off that often, when I need the time, it is beneficial.

My boss knows that I will take less pay in order to have those flexible hours as needed, but I feel like I should be getting paid more after receiving my degree. I am currently getting paid $11.25 and I know that the average starting pay for someone with my education and experience is around $16.00.

Even though it is a small firm, I feel like I desreve to be paid more. How do I ask for a raise without soudnig greedy?

I was thinking about the people who don't get an education and the life they have to live. No one can live off 6-8$? How can our country make that a minimum wage, I actually think the people who work the **** jobs work harder than those of us who got an education. I get paid double that and I can't seem to have enough money ever. How do those people really survive? Can you actually buy a house and have things if you get paid this?

I had my first interview yesterday at a very well known company. They emailed me to schedule a second interview today at 3pm, I guess that's good right? So what kind of questions do they ask in a second interview?

Ive been told its common practice to weed these people out of getting corporate jobs. Most compamies also create a hostile environment to introverts. This despite the fact the introversion is an inherited trait (i.e, your born with it). Should something be done about this.

Hi,

I'm going back to work on Monday, doing a job full time in an industry I qualified in last year. I have been working part time from home for the last year and have been a sah mum for 6 yrs. I'm terrified of not being good enough, or quick enough, not fitting in etc. People tend to find me a bit stand offish but I'm just shy.

Any tips for fitting in, avoiding politics, questions to ask or not ask would be really well received!!

I got a B.A degree and working at a welfare organization. I want to change job but I'm not sure what career path should I take. I just know I really enjoy school and do well academically, especially in humanity and social science. I am an introvert and prefer work alone. What are the possible careers for me?

I don't want to be a grocery bagger or a fast food worker. Do department stores, places like Target, T.J. Maxx, Waldenbooks, etc. Hire 15 year olds? I search online, but everything is either 16 and up or 18 and up. Thank you!
