I'm currently in highschool and unemployed. I really need a job that I can get minimum wage and the hours are after school through the week. But I don't know how to set up a resume.

Could someone post a FAKE/SAMPLE resume that I can read over and change to my... "stats" I suposse?

Or post a link that could help me with one?

Alright, I just word today that I was promoted within my firm. This means more work, responsibility, and probably more travel.

The difference is now I don't make Overtime. My previous title gave me 12% on top of my base salary.

Once I got my promotion, it was announced that my raise is 8% with no added benefits (possibly a bigger bonus but my bonuses are extremely small anyway).

So basically with all of the extra work I have, I will be making 4% less than before.

In my opinion, my company is pretty cheap but do I have leg to stand on to go back to my boss and at least ask for a raise so I'm not taking a step back?

OR - is this very typical and I should just move on.

Any advice on how to approach this would be helpful.

Thanks.

I just started at my job a month a go they are always saying something is wrong I wasn't trained properly and they know that. The thing is they call it constructive criticime *sorry for the spelling error*. SO I always say well I didn't know or if she told someone else I would tell her well you didn't tell me, sometimes I would get left with something someone else did I would tell her it was not me who did that but I will try to fix it and i am forever saying sorry. I really need this job it pays good and I have to walk to work I have even lost sleep over some stuff. Yesterday she pulled me aside and said I always talk back and cut her off and she don't care who did it, she told me just to say ok and fix it. my question is was I wrong to do this and Im just suppose to say ok and move on? also I have yet to hear that Im doing a good job. I work my a$$ off I really do I work at a daycare so Im costantly busy and I come there on my off time to fix the room up.

I am confused about what job I should do. I wondered if anyone had any good tips or knew of any good websites that offer career advice. Or should I see a careers consultant?
I have loads of education that I havent used I have also had many different jobs in different fileds of work although have not found what I want in life. I have a passion for animals, esp horses I have a BSC equine I also enjoy helping others and have a community and criminal justice HNC, and exp working for local govt. I have my licencee and passed exams in pub trade. I also have exp in admin/ secretary/ case management. I am currently working in insurance as a consultant. My CV is looking like a nightmare as I have had so many jobs and each job I do I realise I dont like it but have not found what I do like. I need to settle in a job but seem to get more confused the more jobs I have! I am 26. I also seem to dislike my current job more than all the rest as I am finding it completely boring.

I am in charge when the manager is out..

this person took it upon herself to leave the office, she did not tell me she was going on a break. I then asked her, ‘did you go on a break?’ While filling her face she said ‘yeah’ with her back to me.

I then asked ‘Did you tell me you were going on a break? Because you just up and went.’ She did not answer, she continued eating and would not give me the decency to look at me and retort with an answer.

She then got the hump and said I should not have asked her in front of everyone ‘did you tell me you were going on a break…’

She then said that I have to email her the procedure of her having to report to me about going on a break. I told her that she used to always tell me that she was going on 10 minute breaks before, whats the problem now?

She is being very difficult, she then proceeded to say that I was unprofessional and that if it continues, she will leave.

I have emailed the MD

How would you deal with thi

I am currently studying Journalism but I work the register at a Pharmacy for cash.
My mum is a Retail Pharmacists (same pharmacy as me, the whole reason why I have a job there lol)
My estranged father is an Advertising Art Director last time I checked.
My older sister is a Nurse at a hospital.
My older brother is currently studying to be a Systems Engineer, he works at a surf clothes shop for some cash.
My two younger twin brothers are still in school. One wants to be a professional dancer and the other wants to join the RAAF. They don't have jobs.
What about you guys?

Isn't there anymore trucking companies out there that don't require you to be with a "driver trainer" for weeks on end? before you go on your own? I completed 10 weeks of school, and the job search is ridiculous.

I have had 2 interviews and they checked all refrences, now they had me to take a drug test and background and said it usually takes about 1 1/2 weeks to get the background results back and said they would be in touch.

They never once said if I was hired or not but they had me take the drug test and background check so I am just wondering if is their policy not to tell you you are hired till all the tests and checks come back.

BTW it has only been a week but I am just wondering because I have never been ask to take a drug test before I knew I was hired or not and I am thinking the job is mine when the results are back but want other opinions.

I've been working at a place for 1 1/2 years and finally asked for a review/raise. The review went fairly good, and I tried to point out a lot of things I contributed to our company (we only employee 4 people.) I have accumulated most of the responsiblities, and I feel like I bend over backwards to keep the place running. After 5 weeks of WAITING, I finally got my raise, and I am not very happy. The bottom line is I am looking for new job, but how can I let my boss know that I feel underappreciated?

I finished college last year and am looking for my first official postgraduate job. I've done my time working crappy jobs. In fact, for 11 of the 16 years I've been in the work force, I've worked at jobs that I hated just so that I could have a paycheck. Am I being unreasonable because I don't want to do that anymore? I've been offered positions in sales and customer service, but I'm definitely not interested. I worked in customer service for two years and wanted to shoot myself every day. My main issue is that I'm extremely introverted and would prefer to have job in which the only people I have to interact with are my co-workers. Unfortunately, many job descriptions emphasize people skills. I'm very analytical and contemplative and like to work independently. I have strong proficiency in grammar--I have a language degree--and proofreading and want a position in which I can utilize those skills. I am easy to get along with; I just like to be alone. What's an introvert like me to do?

This question is for accountants only. On a scale of 1-10, how happy are you with your job? What are the pros and cons of your job? The reason why I'm asking is because I'm an accounting major and don't wanna waste my time if I'm going to be unhappy. So far I found it a bit interesting, but my real passion is something else. However, with my real passion, I won't be able to secure myself financially and that is something I'm really concerned about. I know with accounting, I will be able to secure myself. So is it worth it? How much does your job satisfy you?
