I just started at my job a month a go they are always saying something is wrong I wasn't trained properly and they know that. The thing is they call it constructive criticime *sorry for the spelling error*. SO I always say well I didn't know or if she told someone else I would tell her well you didn't tell me, sometimes I would get left with something someone else did I would tell her it was not me who did that but I will try to fix it and i am forever saying sorry. I really need this job it pays good and I have to walk to work I have even lost sleep over some stuff. Yesterday she pulled me aside and said I always talk back and cut her off and she don't care who did it, she told me just to say ok and fix it. my question is was I wrong to do this and Im just suppose to say ok and move on? also I have yet to hear that Im doing a good job. I work my a$$ off I really do I work at a daycare so Im costantly busy and I come there on my off time to fix the room up.

Also they don't let you take the curriculum book home so I come on my off time and look at it and plan my week out.

Hey there! Sounds like your having fun. It is work and your not the owner. As an employee your suppose to do what ever it is the B.O.S.S. says even if your right, in which it sounds like to me you are. Most people in the position of power of management are their because of the extra money or a way of doing less actual physical work. They don't have the leadership level to earn respect of their employees they just try to take it. You can either take it or you can not. Daycare providers such as yourself don't get paid as well as you should be. YES I talk back to my boss every day all day, but I am my own boss so I can get away with that. And with the lack of leadership they will never truly tell you that your doing a good job. I do business with people in all areas of employment and small business owners and that lack of respect coming from bosses to the ones who do the actual work is not there in most places so your not alone. Maybe instead of saying you didn't know tell them ok, will you teach me how to do it correctly, try not to snap back thats not a way to get on their good side.

To those of you that think it is always the employee that has the problem, let me ask this...When you receive and email distinctly laying out how you boss wants something done and you follow that- only to be blamed by your boss for doing as you were instructed.

In your situation, I would come right out and ask if there is a problem with what you are doing, then when you will get the appropriate training. A good supervisor should be able to recognize this as an issue and get you scheduled for training.

Placing blame does no good, figure out what the problem is and fix it. When you are wrong figure out first how to stop things from getting worse and thank the person for letting you know. Ask how it should be done and say you will do it that way from now on. Ask what you can do to be a better worker. When they are telling you things wait until they are done explaining what they want changed before saying anything. Generally nobody does care why you did something wrong they just want to know you have learned how to do it correctly. If they didn't tell you before at least they are telling you now so thank them instead of accusing them.

Your boss is'nt a very good one. She should incourage you and show you how to do things not tell you to just say ok. If i was like this with one of my employees i would expect them to talk back!
