Don't burn bridges ... you WILL need their reference some day. Be sure to give 2 weeks notice.

Dear Sirs,

Thank you for the opportunity to work for XYZ company. While I have enjoyed my employment here, I am submitting my 2 weeks notice to pursue other interests.

Should it present itself, I would welcome the opportunity to work for XYZ company in the future.

Respectfully,

John Doe.

I would just tell them that you appreciate the opportunity to work there, but you have found a better position elsewhere. You feel that in your current position with this company you can not reach your full potential. Your resignation is effective immediately because you need to start training in your other job right away.

Always give two weeks notice. You are going to need a good reference from these folks some day. They may be treating you like dirt, but that does not give you the right to act un-professional. Give the two weeks notice and good luck looking for your next job. Be sure to be courteous your last two weeks on the job and be sure to send your immediate supervisor a thank you note.

Sounds like they terminated you with no hours on the future schedules. Give them a two week notice. It really doesn't make much difference since nothing is scheduled. I really doubt they will give you hours once you give your notice.
