I don't want to be a grocery bagger or a fast food worker. Do department stores, places like Target, T.J. Maxx, Waldenbooks, etc. Hire 15 year olds? I search online, but everything is either 16 and up or 18 and up. Thank you!

I THINK YOU ARE TOO YOUNG TO WORK AT THESE STORES, BUT YOU CAN EARN MONEY BY HIRING YOURSELF OUT. YOU CAN RAKE LEAVES, WASH CARS, WALK DOGS,BABYSIT, TAKE OUT YOUR NEIGHBORS TRASH, RUN ERRANDS,THERE IS SO MUCH THAT YOU CAN DO TO EARN MONEY. MAKE YOURSELF A LIST AND GET BUSY !! GOOD LUCK !!

No....for now you are stuck with the manual labor force, like mowing lawns, raking leaves up (it's Fall and will keep you busy and in good shape). It will be good for you and if done right, will be a wonderful base for your career, no matter what it is that you choose to do. I think this and the past several generations got away from doing stuff like this in the summers and for weekend $$$ and that is why the are called the ME-ME-ME generations and why they don't appreciate things they are given.
Even when you are 16, most states make you have certain grades in school to work or you can't~~A GREAT THING!

No, they usually don't. I'm 15 and I'm having the same problem, so I just figured I'd wait a few months to get a job. No worries. If you're really desperate, you should try babysitting or some private owned businesses will hire younger people.

Just a suggestion but how about asking for some kind of delivery thing? I'm not sure how much of an age restriction there would be on that kind of thing but i have a friend thats 12 and he delivers for pizza hut sometimes to near places its not the best money but if you're desperate.
