Okay, I graduated two years ago with a bachelors degree in history. In the last two years I've had four jobs, two laid me off, and one was temporary and they let me go.

With in those four jobs, I had one job pay me 12 dollars an hour. The other three paid me 8 dollars, 7.50, and 7.00 dollars an hour.

All my supervisors/managers never had a problem with me and told me I was an excellent worker also.

I've also applied at different jobs that could use my degree like musuems and archive jobs in the area I live in, which is the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex area.

And I've done research along the way and what type of jobs people with history degrees can use. I also know one can be a history teacher if they go back and get certified through an alternative certification program. So there was always that option of teaching.

Now I'm about to take my fifth job in two years working at Lowe's as a temporary cashier at 9 dollars an hour.

Anybody have some advice? This is getting old.

If you see an applicant with an online degree, are you skeptical? Because of my work schedule, I need to do a masters degree online. But as an employer, do you value an online degree as much?

I want to move to New York to work as a stockbroker but need the series 7 & 63 exams. As far as i can see you have to be sponsored by a US company to take them. I already have my financial regulations and securities exam in England but want to take the US exams over here. Is that possible?

I know this question is probably asked frequently, but here it is again.

Mine is the person who takes 2 hour lunches all the time and takes about 100 personal phone calls throughout the day. And they hired her to keep track of everyone else's time off, among other things.

I'm temping as a secretary and I have an office to myself. He only comes into the office for about 5 minutes a day and I spotted a radio in the office. I asked him if it was ok if I put it on whilst working there and he said, "I insist". Wasn't that nice?

I am going to be attending ERAU soon (for my second degree, already have a BA) and I keep hearing the aviation industry is really unstable. Is it really such a bad career to become a commercial pilot or should I roll the dice and try for a military pilot?

Im thinking to changing careers from a teacher to an office clerk. I like organizing, but I dont want to do something boring. Yeah, Im tired of being noble and whatever. Actually Im more tired of devoting my whole life to teaching kids who dont care. I go to work at 7am and still work when at home, sometimes until 11 to finish my lessons or projects or grading. Im not good at it anymore and Im burned out.

Her experience: apartment manager for 15 years. She does clean up around the building such as scrubbing the stairs, picking up trash, collecting rent. She has also cleaned offices, such as vaccuming taking out trash cleaning office bathrooms. My problem is how to get it together in a paragraph or with keywords that a company would use.

Hey there - I am trying to write a list of the things that I accomplished at my current job - and the fact is, it hasn't been much. Not due to laziness, but lack of support (from the non-involved owner).
The "accomplishments" I feel would be strectching the truth. For example, I reduced staffing costs by 50% - however, this was not due to financial talent, but having to fire half my staff on a whim of the boss.....(I had to fire the ugly people basically)
Is that kind of truth strecthing considered unethical?
Is it likely to come back and bite me in the butt?

Let me know what you think
Thanks a bunch

I have a full time job at a daycare and I really love my job. I do need to make more money though cuz as soon as I get my raise I will still only be making about $1040 a month. Part of the reason I have this job is because I don't have to work weekends so I don't want anything I have to do on the weekends. I was thinking of asking some of the parents if they need a babysitter 1 or 2 nights a week. I was also thinking of donating once or twice a week because thats $30 a time right there. So basically I need to know any side jobs I can do that aren't a commitment and that don't involve me working weekends. Even if it's only like $10 here and there. Any advice?

I have an interview tomorrow with Chase as a personal banker. I was referred by a friend and I did well on the assessment test. My problem...

The resume that I gave to my friend to give to recruiter has a mistake on it. I also filled an application with that resume. I need to correct dates from my past employment. Should i correct it? Or just leave it alone?

Also I want to eliminate one of my current jobs (its not relevant and its only weekends sometimes. And i want to add a job that is more significant that i worked 4 years ago. What Do I do?
Ill leave the Job change alone if anything but what about the dates??

I am a college graduate with no relevant work experience and I think they might be more concerned about me selling myself as a banker.

Thank you

My resume is maybe 75% done, but I was wondering something.... would it be acceptable to mention something that I wouldn't want to do... such as cold calling (a.k.a. telemarketing) on a cover letter? I currently do inside sales. All of my customers are either pre-existing or they find us through the net, phone book etc. Many years ago I tried telemarketing while in high school and hated it. I just don't want to waste time taking off from my current job to have an interview where off the bat I'm not interested. Also, how could I word that?

thanks!

I haven't been doing work that requires dressy heeled shoes in a few years. I've outgrown my professional shoes. Can I wear loafers or short heeled boots with slacks to my interview for a receptionist position tomorrow? Or should I just spend some of my rent $$ to buy a pair or heels pumps?

I'm more curious than anything if long hair is something that could possibly make you look less desirable or taken less seriously by a potential employer. My hair is a little bit past my back and grows extremely fast so it's easy for it to get and stay long and I don't do much except for wash/condition/brush it to keep it in good condition.

For jobs/interviews I'll usually do a low ponytail or a bun or some type of up do so my hair doesn't get messed up in the possible wind, etc. Do Possible employers look at someone with longer/long hair as less serious or knowledgeable in their field (IE younger and less experienced) and go for someone with shorter hair and a more career look? Or does it matter in the end as long as you put your hair up, present yourself well-groomed if both candidates are otherwise equal?
